#craftcation2026 This year I didn’t take as many classes, it was a time for me to be alone and to slow down. @morninglorias mentioned the other day how important safe spaces are in today’s world. @craftcationconference is one of those safe spaces for me. I don’t have to worry about anything while in this magical world. This year I was focused on learning new print making techniques and I popped into @allisonkreft geli plate and screen printing workshops as well as @theworks.seattle class on Lego printing. I feel so inspired to make printed things with my new found skill! Additionally, I made my first stained glass piece with @gooddeacraftschooland I taught my watercolor making and sketching classes. It was such a relaxing way to work and get away from my studio for a bit. My sister @k.bower77 joined me at the end and we found ourselves lounging on the beach. 🏖️ now back to reality :)
Craftcation!!!! Every year, I search my brain and studio to find something to share with the creative community at the magical land of Ventura. 2026 was the year of making watercolors from earth pigments. The class sold out. 42 people were on the waitlist. And I had a bit of a time in my feelings about it :)
For everyone who made it into the room — WE HAD THE BEST TIME. 🎨✨
First of all we had the best class volunteers. We had snacks (Trader Joe’s, obviously), a playlist with chill vibes, and two hours of making color from plants and the earth together. Every single person walked away with at least 6 watercolors they made from scratch with their own hands & contributed to a giant pile of community colors we shared and added to our collections!
It was an unexpected reward for this class, we all worked together and it’s one of my favorite things i’ve ever done in a class setting.
These moments are why I work so hard behind the scenes, testing my classes endlessly and observing how I can help make each lesson resonate. It’s all worth it the moment the room fills up and people start seeing their custom colors appear on the glass.
To everyone who was on the waitlist:Thank you for your patience as I navigated the overwhelming response to my class and I promise I’m working on bringing this to more of us in the future!
To my Craftcation class of 2026: thank you for your generosity, your curiosity, your energy, and for trusting me with your afternoon. You were the best!!!!

30 years! We celebrated all week going on dates “from the 90s” and despite us both pulling muscles and eating a bunch of junk, & finding a $25 lunch for two, we somehow survived our 90s revival. Not bad for two people over 50 🙃 People ask us all the time what is the secret to a long relationship and we’ve decided that it just comes down to doing things together. We’ve never stopped finding ways to connect with one another and I think that says a lot about how much we value each other. Can we make it another 30 years? I forgot how much I loved to bowl :)

Welcome to my new Substack series titled: Friday Field Trip. Join me as we journey to the English Countryside observing and thinking about the color stories that emerge from this ancient landscape. Also excited to begin sharing some voice memos with you. The idea is that it’s a prompt for us to talk and think about things in n life that feel inspiring. Feel free to send me a voice memo in return! I’ve linked this Substack in my profile. Tell me your thoughts!

Happy Halloween! 🎃
Spent yesterday helping my friend from @sfetsy with a spooky craft activation at @ferrybuilding
All of my core Ferry Building memories are from adulthood — I love the sound of the clacking departure board, chatting with visitors about where they’re from, and watching them create something uniquely their own.
Can you believe this is a free offering!?

Summer vacation 2025 🏝️
Spent a week sketching on Lake Superior with @hoelleroliver @nina_sketching@bajzek & @ritasabler —and seriously what an adventure. It brought me right back to my Midwest childhood: epic thunderstorms, lake fish for dinner, and so. many. bugs. (Seriously, why are there so many bugs??)
We jumped into the largest freshwater lake on earth (did you know there are 350 shipwrecks in Lake Superior?!) and ended up at the wildest bar I’ve ever seen. Definitely a different vibe from our past trips—more rustic, more rain, and so much fun.
#LakeSuperior, we’ll be back.

I’m still buzzing… we made our own pigments—then turned them into a full set of 12 natural watercolors, all sourced from the natural world. As a natural textile dyer and watercolorist, this has been a major bucket list goal—and I finally got to check it off thanks to @nataliestopka and the incredible studio space at @botanicalcolors in Seattle.
It feels like a dream… until I open the little book we made and see the dream come true. ✨ Here’s to making some paintings with these magical materials!

Miami girls in Wine Country 🍷🌈
The past couple of weeks have felt heavy, but then came a visit with friends.
After 22 years of friendship, I’m still in awe of @vivi8181. I feel so honored she brought her daughter to experience my world here in Sonoma County. We played with color in the studio, talked through some exciting updates for @rebeccasaylorstudio , and soaked in the creative spark that comes from seeing everything through fresh eyes.
We made beautiful things, learned new things, felt the salty Pacific wind on our faces, and got inspired by the vibrant landscapes all around us. It was a soul-filling visit—and like always, never quite long enough. Already counting the days until we’re together again. 💛
Loss of Maximus
They say Instagram is just the highlight reel—and most of us know by now that what we post is only a fraction of our real lives. But sometimes, I think it’s important to share not just the highlights but the heartbreak, too.
For the last two weeks, I’ve been absolutely gutted. Our sweet boi, Maximus Milkshake, had a sudden cardiac event that likely tore his heart muscle. He died, and it feels like my whole world collapsed. It was one of the most dramatic, devastating moments of my life.
Only recently have I been able to look at photos of him with something other than grief—starting to feel the deep love and joy of the 12 years we got to spend with him. He was our whole world. I couldn’t imagine life without him… and now, I completely understand the plot of Pet Sematary
The world lost a beautiful soul. I still feel him sometimes—bossing me around at night, curling up next to me like he always did. I miss him more than I can explain.
So let’s raise a glass to Maximus Milkshake, the very best boi. 💔💫
He lived a wonderful, adventurous life.Rest in peace sweet baby 🐈

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
This free tool allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously, ensuring your activity remains hidden from the story uploader.
Anonstories lets users view Instagram stories without alerting the creator.
