I'm very proud to announce my new sound effects site. There are 50 free sounds if you sign up to the mailing list. The initial launch is 16 libraries which together make up COMPLETE ONE. It's been a labour of love to get this done. I'm doing a launch special discount on the COMPLETE ONE bundle until 28th February but after that a 'no sales, just straight prices' policy. Nearly 3000 sounds, 172 GB. 81 Hours, all UCS and Soundminer metadata, everything from Urban Explosions to Empty Presence, Ice footsteps to Modular synth Modems with some Extreme Voices along the way. You can buy individual themes too. Thanks for your support.

Very pleased to share the news that Notes From Brook House will have its international premiere at @aafilmfest next month!

I've followed the programming at Ann Arbor Film Festival for years and looked to the festival as a beacon of experimental cinema. I'm thrilled to have this film involved and also to be able to attend the screening thanks to generous support from the British Council @britisharts and partners @bfinetwork.

The film is showing in competition alongside some fantastic shorts and performances. Here's the screening description:

"Devotional Signals launches this program of contemporary mixed-genre films featuring Notes From Brook House by Edinburgh-based filmmaker Alex Nevill; examinations of the materiality of the signal; the liminal stages of life and death as well as stories from an immigration centre on London’s outskirts; a community herbarium; the warning to Icarus; a rebirth and return; and a sensory rollercoaster."

Excited to return to the wonderful @glasgowshort for a screening of Notes From Brook House in the Scottish Competition next month.

Judging by the programme, there are a lot of talented filmmakers in Scotland at the moment! I'm very pleased to be working amongst them and to have this film featured.

The first project that I made here (Fishcakes & Cocaine) also screened at GSFF back in 2014. It will be great to revisit the festival and see how its grown over the years!

2025 was a year of many firsts, working for 2 Oscar winning directors, releasing my own sound libraries, sound designing a 100% underwater film, working on a musical and using my Manchester heritage to help performances sound good. Busy!

I had the pleasure to work with some amazing sound talents - Steve Single, Johnnie Burn, Emmet O’Donnell, Stefan Smith, Rana Eid, Markus Moll, Zakhar Semirkhanov, Neil Leachman, Simon Carroll, Max Behrens, Steve Browell and more

I had the pleasure to work for some amazing directors: Mona Fastvold, Ben Affleck, Daniel Roher, Alex Nevill, Harald Hutter, Dan Edelstyn, Hilary Powell, Ben Russell, Rebecca Lenkiewicz, Andreas Antonopoulos, Blas Lamazares Fraile, Jeff Silva, Frances Barry, Maren Hahnfeld, Arata Mori, Laurian Ghinițoiu, Hector Coles and more

Wishing everyone a great 2026, despite the many challenges we all face I am looking forward to it with optimism and hope.

At Intersections, the festival’s spirit lives as much in its screenings as in the conversations, workshops, and knowledge exchanged throughout the week. This year, we were honored to welcome an exceptional group of UK and Lebanese experts whose work continues to reshape how films are made, heard, funded, and imagined.

From Paul Davies, one of the UK’s leading sound designers (You Were Never Really Here, Hunger), who guided participants through the emotional architecture of sound… to Rob Walker, re-recording mixer of Hot Milk, who explored how a film’s sonic language is built collaboratively with Lebanese sound designer Rana Eid.

We also welcomed Pinny Grylls & Sam Crane, co-directors of Grand Theft Hamlet, who opened new doors into virtual production, gaming technologies, and performance inside digital worlds.

Artist, writer and theoristSteve Goodman (Kode9) led a powerful session on sound, conflict, and sonic warfare, unpacking how drones, booms, blasts, and decoys shape the acoustics of fear.

And in our major industry panel, we brought together leading names including James Weddup, Maya de Freige and Karim Nasr and Jordan McGarry, moderated by Eneni Bambara-Abban from the British Council, all discussing co-production, funding, innovation, and the success of the AI in Film collaboration.

These exchanges form the backbone of Intersections: a festival where expertise meets curiosity, where UK and Lebanese professionals learn from one another, and where future collaborations take root.

How do we find a common way to talk about sound events, so we can shape them collaboratively with the director?

In this special panel at Intersections: The UK Film Festival in Lebanon, we focus on the British film Hot Milk (Rebecca Lenkiewicz, UK 2025) and the creative process behind its sound worldled by acclaimed Lebanese‑UK sound practitioners Rana Eid and Rob Walker.

Join us as they explore how creative choices in sound become the film’s sound‑language from atmospheres that reflect characters’ inner worlds, to the collaborative dialogue between director, editor and mixer.

Rana Eid, Beirut‑born and a leading sound designer in the MENA region, co‑founded DB Studios and has built sonic landscapes for films including The Cave and Honeyland. Her work reflects deep listening and layered atmospheres rooted in lived experience.
Rob Walker is a UK–based re‑recording mixer and sound designer with over 20 years in independent film, installations and hybrid cinema. He studied film in Stirling and UCLA and has lectured in MA Sound Production.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
