For my 10th birthday, my parents helped me build a stage in our basement so I could create (bully my sisters into being in my plays)

For my 35th birthday, I signed the lease on a new chapter @room123studios. With three rooms to create in, Room 123 will boast a photo studio, dance/film studio and podcast studio available to rent for whatever you dream up.

This accessible art space is going to be home to workshops, dance classes, play readings, fight and intimacy training and certifications (@fighteractress) and a permanent home for @everybodyonstage

May is for Bojangles & tap history!

I’m teaching another pop-up intermediate tap class this month at @room123studios, Wednesday May 13th, to celebrate National Tap Dance Day with a little advance.

If you’re looking to reconnect with tap dance, fill gaps in your understanding of the style, or just practice in a fun & inclusive space, come on over!

In this 1.5h class, we will play with the Shim Sham Shimmy (if you don’t know it yet, this could be your chance…), learn about Bill “Bojangles” Robinson’s contributions to tap dance and the entertainment industry, explore some soft-shoe style drills, and work on a combination inspired by Bojangles’ most celebrated moments.

For those of you who don’t know, National Tap Dance Day is celebrated May 25th, on Bojangles’ birthday. Come commemorate this legend and so many more!
