‘Bridges’ is a track I made two years ago. At the time, it was more of a collection of different ideas and vibes that I found interesting. But back then, it didn’t feel complete yet, so I set it aside. Over the past two years, I’ve been hugely inspired by new influences and styles such as baile funk, jersey club, amapiano, and UK bass. When I decided to revisit ‘Bridges’, I started blending all those different sounds together. Now it feels like a mix of everything that has shaped me musically. The title ‘Bridges’ not only refers to how these different genres and influences are connected, but also to how this track feels like a bridge for me personally – a transition to the next step in my career. It’s my first single, and it truly feels like the beginning of something bigger.”

The process of building a live set took a lot of time, energie and creative discipline. Sometimes it got a bit overwhelming because i’m so unexperienced but in the end it was definately worth it! Pushing my boundries and getting myself out of my comfort zone is exactly why i love the ‘Few Steps Back’ show so much. Feeling super fortunate to be able to go through this process with this beautiful golden hair musical mastermind @papi_gaba
 
Papi Gaba uses old labaratory equipment from the 60s. Originaly used as test and calibration tools that generate pure and accurate soundwaves. This is transfered through other equipment and analyzed with a oscilloscope to see malfunctions in other hardware. For this show papi used 6 different of these pieces to create musical layers and loops. By resampling his sounds back and forth through a sampler and layering that with drums, a vocoder and basses we created a 30 minute live show we call E-MILS.
