In this episode of Center Yourself, Dave shares the hilarious and painfully honest reality of being on a major label, constantly being pushed toward a sound that didn’t feel like them. He even hilariously mimics their styling and reflects on how songs like “Push” became cultural artifacts of an era, especially when viewed through a modern lens after the Barbie movie reframed that conversation around masculinity.

Dave takes full accountability for the comedic stubbornness, but underneath the humor was a band fiercely protecting their voice. Sometimes the hardest thing to do in a room full of opportunity… is say no.
