🎉 Congratulations to Demi Moore on her Golden Globe win for Best Actress and her Oscar nomination in the same category!

We were thrilled to work with her during the preproduction phase of the movie, scanning her to provide the SFX team with precise references that brought those incredible makeup effects to life.

During filming, we also had the opportunity to scan Elizabeth Sparkle in her monstrous form 🧪, as well as Margaret Qualley, to support the VFX team in crafting their stunning visuals.

We are excited to see how the movie performs at the Oscars and wish the entire team the best of luck in all the nominated categories!

Halloween at Unit Image & Scan Engine: Where Costumes Meet CGI-Level Reality
This year’s annual Halloween party did not disappoint, from uncanny creatures to eerily accurate characters, our teams really went all-in.
And of course… we couldn’t resist turning this into a perfect opportunity to demonstrate our 3D scanning tech.
🕷️ The result?
Costumes so detailed, our scans captured every texture, shadow and spooky expression exactly as frightening as they were in real life.
💀 Why it matters:
Scan Engine’s cross-polarized, high-resolution workflow doesn’t just preserve costumes, it reveals every nuance of materials, fabrics, makeup, and shapes.
In other words: if you looked terrifying at the party, the scan will make sure the internet sees it too.

Once again, we had the pleasure of collaborating with @mac_guff on this exciting project.

Last year, we had the opportunity to 3D-scan actor @taharrahimofficiel .
We then delivered a full avatar of the actor, created with our new cross-polarized rig, allowing us to capture albedo and specular maps with great accuracy.

🎬 A glimpse into the cinematic VR experience: Echoes of Bravery – Omaha Beach VR, created by @ride_fx for the D-Day Omaha Museum in Vierville-sur-Mer.

This powerful virtual reality experience immerses visitors in the historic Omaha Beach landing on June 6th, 1944, offering a moving and realistic perspective on one of the most pivotal moments in history.

For this project, we produced a large number of high-resolution raw 3D scans of the soldiers featured in the experience. It was a fascinating challenge, both in terms of scanning precision and historical accuracy. We captured sequences with multiple actors on stage, along with in-motion scans to reflect dynamic performances. The soldiers’ gear was so detailed that it provided an excellent benchmark to assess the quality of our 3D scans.

One of the highlights was welcoming passionate French reenactors to our studio. They arrived fully equipped with meticulously recreated WWII-era U.S. Army uniforms and historically accurate gear, including pistols and rifles. Their dedication brought an incredible level of authenticity to the final result.

This project is a great example of how 3D scanning and tools like Unreal Engine can be combined to tell compelling stories through immersive experiences, even when working within a budget.

Here is the first trailer for Yoroï, an upcoming movie starring French rapper Orelsan in a Japanese adventure. The film is set to be released in October 2025.

We were delighted to collaborate once again with Orelsan, following our first partnership during his Civilisation tour. We scanned his face for the creation of props used in the film.

We also worked with @mac_guff , conducting a 3D scan of one of the actresses in the movie.

We’re looking forward to watching this film in just a few months!

French singer Yamê just released his first album ÉBĒM, along with a short film that blends live action, 3D animation, and 2D animation. You can discover it through the link below!

We collaborated with Mathematic and had the pleasure of scanning Yamê’s body, face, and key expressions. Using our raw scans, Mathematic created his avatar, which you can see featured in the film.

During the last Xbox Showcase, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy was announced, and we’re proud to have contributed to this amazing project!
For this title, our team captured a wide range of facial expressions from an actress to help Asobo Studio bring more detail and realism to the game’s heroine.

Skin texture, expressions, and subtle nuances were all precisely scanned to provide a realistic and expressive foundation. The Asobo Studio artists used this data to craft the main character’s design with incredible depth and authenticity.
