We’ve had a few artists return to the Secret Sounds stage over the years, and this one felt extra special. Asheville’s hardest working man, Asher Hill (@asherburnhamhill), came back with a spaced-out, melodic solo to close their first improv set.

What’s your favorite Beatles song and why? Don’t skip the “and why?” part... that’s the most interesting part! And yes, of course it’s impossible to actually pick a favorite... but for the sake of the game, today, at this moment, which one speaks to you the most?

I’ll go first... for me, right now, it’s I Want You (She’s So Heavy), which, coincidentally, we just released a cover of 😉You can find the full song and video in all the usual places (link in bio). The composition of this song is just so cool. Switching back and forth between the 4/4 section and the 6/8 section makes the choruses feel so dramatic and heavy and slow in the best way. Paul’s bass work on this one is so freaking cool (and I love how Jesse took those parts and put his own spin on them in our version). The lyrics are so simple and repetitive, but they convey such a deep feeling. I love when something so powerful can be communicated with so few words. Ok, your turn...
