We enjoyed a brilliant panel session this morning hosted by @seed.eat.repeat 🎤

The discussion explored a broad range of topics, including Toronto’s evolving food scene, emerging industry trends, shifting consumer behaviours, as well as labour and cost challenges.

Many thanks to @rickmatharu, @jennyshinpr and @tclarkrutherford for sharing their insights 🙌

The programme now continues with food tours across the suburbs, followed by dinner in Downtown Toronto this evening 🌆

Who do you think would win a Food World Cup 🏆?

Since the FIFA World Cup is coming to Canada for the first time ever, we thought it would be fun to run a similar tournament with food, not football!

And with Toronto being one of the most diverse food cities in the world, we made our own bracket based on the real World Cup groups and plan on visiting local restaurants in the city and putting comparable dishes head to head until we have a winner 🥇

📍Location: Toronto

Details ⬇️

We’re super lucky in Canada to get instant noodles from all around the world, so Amaara & I thought we had tried everything.

But @freshcogrocery just got new @ofood_global kimchi ramyun with REAL kimchi 🤯 we’ve only ever seen the dehydrated flakes before! No surprise the same company owns the No. 1 kimchi brand in the world, Jongga. We usually have a jar of Jongga kimchi in our fridge 🙌🏾

The two options are:
⭐️ Real kimchi ramyun noodle soup (Amaara’s fav)
⭐️ Real kimchi fiery stir-fried ramyun (my fav)

Which one would you try first 👀

Please let me know if you enjoyed this storytelling format, and follow for more coverage of local gems like this one 🥰

📍@mariastortasjalisco Hwy 8, Stoney Creek (Hamilton)

Below is everything we ordered with prices. No stars this time - I would suggest everything we tried as it was all homemade, fresh and affordable! If you’re looking for the most indulgent or fussy food, this isn’t the spot.

- Aguas frescas $4.50. We had the horchata (milky cinnamon) & jamaica (hibiscus)
- Homemade tortilla chips & salsa $6.95. Must try the unique salsa orale!
- Maria’s frijoles charros $8.95
- Traditional birria $16.95
- Torta ahogada $16.95. Eat right away, or may get too soggy BUT Helen did tell me they’ve updated their bread since so maybe not!
- Cafe de olla $4.25
- Seasonal tres leches. Not sure of the price here.

✅ Vegetarian friendly
✅ GF friendly

*It looks like it but I was not invited, Helen just recognized me when I walked in and was kind enough to spend a while chatting with us about her and family’s story. We paid for our meal. So much love for them, thank you ❤️

Thanks @_chrissyh for tagging along!

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
