We delved into concepting virtual worlds, AI agents (way before chatGPT came around), futuristic medical gizmoes, oppressive mind and faith controlling systems.

Even though project was shelved, the many RNDs and concept frames were laying around my hard drives for long enough. Now is the time to share them!

Heterosis | Snark.art | 2022–23

A throwback to a past project from a very brief, but intense and vibrant era of NFTs.

I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with @myshli in what proved to be a massive, 9-month-long undertaking. One of the most unusual working experiences I’ve had in my career — rather than working towards something like a set of stills or videos, we had to create a system that would produce a massive number of flowers.

This system had to procedurally build, animate, sim, and render those flowers based on a JSON input with randomized values for a set of parameters (basically, digital DNA for our flowers).

Working through (many) challenges and countless debug iterations, we created a system with a selection of 7 flower species from which we could generate a set of assets for virtually any number of unique flowers.

In the end, the Heterosis NFT collection included 2,500 flowers and was completely sold out in less than a week.

In the end, the Heterosis NFT collection included 2,500 flowers and was completely sold out in less than a week.

A throwback to a past project from a very brief, but intense and vibrant era of NFTs.

I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with @myshli in what proved to be a massive, 9-month-long undertaking. One of the most unusual working experiences I’ve had in my career — rather than working towards something like a set of stills or videos, we had to create a system that would produce a massive number of flowers.
