"Our DJ sets are packed with Vadim Samoluk, aka Poladroïd, and it's a great pleasure to see him back with this new EP on Selvamancer. The artist confirms a recognizable stylistic signature in constructing complex rhythmic textures, where oblique funk, neo-fusion influences, and glitch inserts fit naturally with full and dynamic bass, capable of pushing without ever weighing down the picture. The opening track, "リング," immediately makes the intentions clear: a broad and constantly evolving piece, built on micro-details and progressive layering. The percussion moves nervously but controlled, while digital melodic fragments emerge and dissolve, generating an elastic tension that maintains attention throughout. With "Baccarat Noir," the pace becomes more compact and direct. The groove is tight and interacts with elastic and pulsating bass lines. Here, Poladroïd works hard on rhythmic interlocking and empty spaces, allowing the elements to breathe and making the track particularly effective for dancefloor use. “КІБОРГ” shifts the focus toward slightly darker, more obsessive, and futuristic territory. The synthetic textures become sharper, and the patterns take on a mechanical character, but without ever slipping into rigidity: the energy remains fluid, never cold. Closing, “The Anarchist” wraps things up with a more open and narrative approach. The rhythms remain complex but relaxed, while more airy melodic elements emerge between glitches and modulations, leaving a sense of continuous movement and formal freedom. A solid and inspired EP, which confirms Poladroïd as one of the most interesting names in combining sonic research and rhythmic functionality. A release that excites without needing excess, destined to be played for a long time both on headphones and on the dance floor."
