Untitled is a continuation of .WEST Studio design language that challenges the traditional use of light in nightlife spaces. Fixtures are placed hidden behind sheets of plastic covering the entire room, highlighting the main piece suspended above the stage. Both the performer and the crowds become just shadows as the plastic reflects the light across the space.

In this work, everyday office equipment is recontextualised in the nightclub setting, transformed into an immersive and interactive light installation that invites audience participation. Experimentally, the work studies how heightened audience engagement within the nightclub atmosphere can reshape both the space and the collective experience. Through the system of scanners and screens, the installation challenges participants to reflect on the complexity of the systemic structures that govern daily life. By engaging with this interactive space, participants confront the underlying systems of control, surveillance, and commodification that permeate both the digital and physical worlds. It prompts participants to see how their individual actions and perceptions are interconnected with larger forces, urging them to consider how power, class, and labour dynamics manifest in both physical and digital spaces.

BRUMOUS + DENDRITES

BRUMOUS is an interactive audiovisual installation that explores how ambiguous forms emerge from noise. The
work presents a continuously shifting field of visual static across an array of LED panels. Within this field, shapes appear only through motion and dissolve the moment stillness returns. BRUMOUS considers entropy, perception and the fleeting nature of form. It reflects on the idea that all possible figures already exist within the
system and that visibility arises through temporary organisation rather than creation.
DENDRITES, as part of an ongoing research project by Sem Allush, investigates the multi-sensory interplay of light and music, merging distinct auditory and visual stimuli into singular audiovisual objects. It examines the nightclub as a space where sensory boundaries blur, exploring how light, music and a dancing crowd together create immersive moments of embodied experience. Here, perception becomes an active exchange, a dynamic interaction between stimulus and perceiving subject. The form of the work takes inspiration from dendrites, intricate structures within the brain forming its neural pathways. The fractal patterns form an externalised nervous system, translating sound into light and spatial motion. The dendritic structure mirrors how senses collaborate: not as isolated inputs, but as a networked whole.

DENDRITES is an audioreactive light sculpture constructed from electroluminescent wire. Like a parasitic organism, it crawls through the space by attaching itself to existing architectural elements such as pipes, cables, and structural edges. Rather than imposing a fixed form, the work takes shape through its surroundings, producing a branching, organic network that appears grown rather than installed.
DENDRITES responds to both the space and the sound around it, creating a dynamic presence that feels alive within its environment.

MUTUAL HACKING CHINA TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear friends,
We are so so happy and excited to finally announce our first official .WEST tour. For almost a year we’ve been corresponding and planning to try and build this bridge between the experimental arts communities in both countries, and facilitate this great exchange of art, culture, knowledge and friendship.
The MUTUAL HACKING TOUR as a multidisciplinary initiative will explore the “glitch” as a metaphor for the fluidity of cultural identity and fragmented memory. Our goal is to move beyond traditional boundaries and transform club environments into integrated audiovisual systems where the art takes center stage. The tour will take us to a total of four venues across the cities of Chengdu, Chonqing and Beijing.
More detailed information about our exchange, the venues, our sponsors, and the artists partaking in this intercontinental experiment will follow soon.
Stay tuned!
Much love❤️
The .WEST team.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
