Help revive the 15th-century tradition of communal lacemaking this Sunday 10 May with a session led by @londonlaceclub, part of SET 91’s ongoing Open Series.

Founded by practitioners and researchers, @ameliadaisywhite and @laurenwsn, the club is a community-led response to bobbin lace appearing on the Heritage Crafts Endangered ‘Red List.’ By bringing people together to learn and share, the session ensures this historic craft remains a living, accessible practice rather than a lost one.

Over the course of two hours, both experienced lacemakers and total novices are invited to share tools, knowledge, and works-in-progress, with the goal of building your confidence to explore lace making in your own way.

Date: Sunday 10 May
Time: 12-2pm
Location: SET 91, 91 Tabernacle Street, Old Street
Admission: Free

🪡 The essentials 🪡

-Please bring your own equipment, including a lace making pillow and current projects.

**Beginners** - if you require equipment and support, please DM @londonlaceclub in advance so they can ensure a setup is ready for you.

As places are limited, we kindly ask that you only book if you are certain you can attend. If you can no longer make it, please cancel your ticket via Outsavvy and contact us at ninetyone@setspace.uk so your spot can be offered to someone else.

SET 91’s Open Series continues this April with ‘A PATCH Sunday Salon’, an exhibition and live programme led by PATCH, an interdisciplinary collective working across architecture, art and research.

Bringing together works by the collective and its members, the exhibition explores diasporic experiences of the city and considers how architecture can be understood through alternative, community-led lenses.

Alongside the exhibition, the evening includes a live talk and Q&A, as well as a conversational salon returning to questions of home and holding space, asking how diasporic communities can be centred within fast-paced metropolitan environments in ways that are tangible, supportive and meaningful.

This session is free to attend, open to artists, architects, spatial practitioners and those interested in the intersections of community, identity and the built environment.

Date: Sunday 12 April
Times: 4.30-7pm
Location: SET 91, Tabernacle Street, Old Street

Thanks so much to everyone who joined us for our inaugural Open Series session last night! Such a great evening ✨

Led by Magda Musisi-Kaggwa, Relationship Manager for Visual Arts (London) at Arts Council England (@aceagrams), the session covered how the National Lottery Project Grants programme works, how applications are assessed, and shared practical advice on putting together a strong application, followed by lots of useful questions and a discussion.

A big thank you to Magda and Arts Council England for such a insightful session.

We’ll be hosting more Open Series sessions soon, so keep an eye out over the next few days for announcements.

Introducing SET 91’s new Open Series! 🌟

SET 91 is now launching a new programme of talks, workshops and discussions supporting artists in navigating contemporary practice, taking place periodically at the gallery throughout the year.

Kicking things off is a practical advice session on applying to Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants, with a particular focus on the strand for applications under £30,000.

Led by a Relationship Manager for Visual Arts at Arts Council England (@aceagrams), the session will offer insight into how applications are assessed, common challenges applicants encounter and how to communicate ideas clearly when developing a proposal.

Applying for funding can feel complex or inaccessible, particularly for early-career artists or those working outside traditional institutional pathways. This session aims to demystify the process and offer practical guidance.

The session is free to attend.

Details

Date: Tuesday 24 March
Times: Arrival 6pm | Session 6:30-8:30pm
Location: SET 91, Tabernacle Street, Old Street

Book your free spot on Outsavvy via the link in bio.

**As places are limited, we kindly ask that you only book if you are able to attend so that others who would benefit from the session are able to take part.

Install shots from Monique Négligée.

Conceived and curated by @moniquefei, the exhibition transformed the gallery as a lived-in bedroom, positioning the domestic interior as both private refuge and public stage, open to the street, the camera and anyone willing to step inside.

Monique Négligée marked SET 91’s sixth and final exhibition of our first six-month programme.

More announcements to come soon.

The bedroom has gone quiet, which means only one thing: Monique Négligée has come to a close at SET 91.

For one week only, the gallery became a lived-in bedroom: a site of ritual, performance, fittings, film nights, readings, latex lessons, vacuum séances, crochet circles, boutique encounters and late-night gatherings. Bodies were sealed and reshaped. Garments were tried on and taken home. And as the bedroom faced the camera and the window remained wide open, private gesture and public spectacle blurred.

Thank you to everyone who crossed the threshold with us - those who came to the opening weekend, shopped the boutique, entered the vacuum bed, joined the workshops, danced at the closing pyjama party, or simply stood and watched.

To our hugely talented performers, readers, DJs and collaborators, we couldn’t thank you enough for making this week so much fun. You made the bedroom pulse.

Finally our deepest thanks to @moniquefei and @shshksslr for inviting us into the bedroom and holding the space so carefully behind the scenes. We already miss you!

Monique Négligée marks our sixth and final exhibition of the first six-month programme. But stay tuned as we’ll be announcing more exciting things to get involved in, as well as our next programme shortly.

See you soon. More pictures of the week to come.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
