Like the great punk rock philosophers say, you have to do it yourself!
So I’m excited to post and announce that this August I will be producing and directing (a first for both) a run of performances for one of my favorite Shakespeare plays Henry the 4th, Part 1 as a @sandbox_theatre member project at Mrs Murphy’s Pub! I already have a bunch of my favorite Chicago artists attached to the project and can’t wait to get started this summer!

Hey all! I’m doing this show on the afternoon of June 27th with @couchpennyensemble. I don’t know the story, I don’t know any lines and I don’t know what’s going to happen, and I won’t know any of these things until I get on stage. I’ve also been told that I won’t need to improvise anything.
I’m terrified. So come and fill the house with all the support possible as I go through this voyage. Itll be theatre that’s alive and present.

I shaved my head about a week ago, I’ve been feeling very dysmorphic about it. So, In an attempt to try and own it more, I’ve taken a self portrait. For the art!

𝐄𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐲𝐬 (she/they) is no stranger to tackling tough challenges. Have you heard of Jurassic World? You know, with all the dinosaurs? 🦖 Erin has. In fact, somewhere between getting her MFA in Acting & New Works from Ohio State, co-directing 𝘛𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘕𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘮 for Backyard Theatre Company, and acting in SLO Repertory's production of 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘛𝘰 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘛𝘰 𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦, she fought off Tyrannosaurus Rex's with Feld Entertainment's 𝘑𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘛𝘰𝘶𝘳. Balance is key though, so Erin spends a good deal of time at the Lillstreet Art Center, one of her favorite places in the city. 🎨
An MFA in Performance from the University of Arkansas will prep you for almost anything. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐖𝐞𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐫 (she/her) is living proof of that, having taken on roles in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘊𝘭𝘶𝘣 at Theatre Squared, 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘰 with Tin Drum Theatre Company (along with T.A. ensemble member Erin Alys & T.A. Artistic Director Riles August Holiday), and 𝘉𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘍𝘭𝘺 at Redtwist Theatre. Recently, Shannon has taken to fueling such magical performances with a visit to her favorite purveyor of coffee and vegan treats, Loaves and Witches in Edgewater. ☕🥐

Another show in the books! Strange cargo at @citylittheater, what whirl of a process it was. Loved the cast and the crew and was super glad to have worked with everyone! Special shoutout to @kohlmemaybe for this awesome portrait and really got my cheekbones and jawline down!
