It's nearly next week which means we're back in the saddle at @kcc_shipley on Friday night with the wonderful @weetwoodmacband 🙌

There'll be no tickets on the door because this one will be sold out imminently, you can find the very last tickets via @seetickets @dicefm and @jumborecords 🎟️⏳

Jangly pop group SHRUB take you on a meandering jazzy tour of the universe with lush vocal harmonies and gleeful sax solos. Since their big-fringed teenage Bradford days, SHRUB have sold out headline shows in Sheffield including at the Leadmill and Sidney & Matilda, and have enjoyed a gig at the Caroline Street Social club back in September 2024. They're looking forward to bringing their lively set to @kcc_shipley for a hometown show!

@shrub.shrub.shrub will be with us on Friday 14th August ably supported by @captainsouthamericaofficial - as ever, @shipleytriangle will be slinging the drinks in the bar 🍻

We're gearing up for more live music at @kcc_shipley and reminiscing about the awesome @pulled_apart_by_horses show back in February...

The set list we found soaked to the stage suggests some last-minute changes... Looks like we nearly missed out on 'I Punched a Lion in the Throat'... Surely not...

Oh, and we definitely got a bonus Nirvana cover as an encore on top of this lot. Rumour has it they'll be making another local live appearance in the coming months 👀

Festivities have begun!

If you want to come to the @pigsx7 show here at @kcc_shipley on Saturday 1st August then do not bother heading to our main ticket vendor at @seetickets because they have nothing left to give you... Nada. Nowt. Zero. Zilch. They're all gone. Troughed up like a pile of old cabbages.

We have a handful left on @dicefm and you can also dig your trotters into @jumborecords as they have a few. The snooze you lose alarm bell is ringing loud and clear with this one.

Do not fear: if you miss out, the good news is that we've also got them playing on Friday 31st July. The bad news? That one is very close behind Saturday on the old sales-ometer.

We've entered May which means @wrong_speed_records will be with us in a matter of weeks...

@blindeyenotts are on the bill and have a new record out on 5th June - here's what @theendlesshum says about them:

Get your ears on new single 'Blitz Can' and fire up the start of your bank holiday weekend properly. Blind Eye will be with us on Saturday 23rd May alongside a carefully curated lineup courtesy of Endless Hum and Wrong Speed.

@shipleytriangle will be there from 6 pm to ease you in gently...

@dean_mcphee is a UK-based guitarist whose work draws on dub, British folk, underground electronic music, and psychedelic rock, evolving from sparse, echo-laden solo guitar pieces into a heavier, more immersive style incorporating deep bass, hypnotic riffs, and layered, loop-based structures.

Performing on electric guitar through an expansive pedalboard routed into a valve amplifier and 18” subwoofer, his live sets unfold in real time, building dense, rhythmic compositions from minimal elements.

A regular contributor to the Folklore Tapes collective, he has released music on his own label Bass Ritual as well as on BLAST FIRST (petite), Sonido Polifonico, Reverb Worship, and Hood Faire, which he co-runs with Sam McLoughlin and David Chatton Barker, and has toured throughout the UK and Europe, opening for artists including Thurston Moore, Acid Mothers Temple, Michael Chapman, The Magic Band, Emeralds, and Ex-Easter Island Head.

His latest album, Astral Gold, received widespread critical acclaim from The Quietus, Uncut, Aquarium Drunkard, MOJO, Loud and Quiet, KLOF Mag, and Brainwashed, and his sixth album, Northern Earth, was recently released on limited cassette

You can catch Dean McPhee at @kcc_shipley alongside @dystopian_vectors and @worriedaboutsatan on Saturday 16th May for what promises to be one of the richest sonic tests for our new sound system yet.

As ever, our partners @shipleytriangle will be dishing out the drinks next door in the bar.

The first time we erected the May Pole of shonky drainpipe beauty and delight was back in 2022.

As you can tell, we were absolute sticklers for the adherence to health and safety protocols.

Expert pole wrangler Jez took control of the pole, ably assisted by Andy as he scaled the woefully short but aesthetically pleasing set of step ladders.
Guidance for The Pole provided by glamorous assistants, Susan & Mandee, who wielded the improvised ‘guide & support’ props with skill, clenched buttocks & supreme confidence as to the success of the mission.

I can’t quite believe this year will be the fifth May Day Mayhem celebration Jez, myself & friends have put on at The Triangle…

Lots of wonderful memories created and magical times shared with lovely people.

Well, it looks like summer already arrived in Shipley...

Enjoy being outdoors because we'll be getting you back indoors this summer, starting off with the @weetwoodmacband / @dystopian_vectors weekend in mid May (seriously, the snooze you lose ticket alarm is really going off for WM now).

@theendlesshum and @wrong_speed_records join us the weekend after, and you'll be able to further satisfy your noisy needs with two nights of @pigsx7 later in the summer (the sty is very close to being full here too).

Are we sandwiching a funk soul summer party in there somewhere? We certainly are, courtesy of the one and only @djlubijovanovic and the legendary @thehaggishorns 🎺
