Was truly an honor to play any part in this heartfelt, loving, earnest story that @therachellin has worked so tirelessly on.
When I read this piece back in August, it really hit me. New York is a place where so many people move to every year to pursue a better life. In chasing that, they project outward their aspirations making their families, communities, and city a better place to live. Those dreams and hopes lived through Dear John, and it was an honor to be a part of this team.

‘Dear John’ is a sharp, funny, and tender solo show inspired by a true story about what happens when a long-absent father reconnects with his not-quite-adult daughter through social media. Blending Facebook DMs, recorded interviews, and vivid memories of growing up undocumented in New York’s Chinatown, writer and performer Rachel Lin traces a messy, millennial coming-of-age—full of longing, misfires, and late-night scrolling.
