“Atopos” is a stone sculpture meant to bring together two lands through the realm of architecture and sound. In the 9th century, the icon of the virgin Panaghia Chozoviotissa fled the Monastery of Temptation in Jericho, Pal3stine, to escape from the iconoclasts. The icon landed in Amorgos, Greece, where a monastery was built to host her. “Atopos” is an attempt to bring together the virgin’s two mountain cliffs through the realms of architecture and sound. Conceived as the prototype of a wind harp, the sculpture mimics the shape of a body in movement and is meant to produce an eerie sound meant to connect the two lands through air.
“Atopos” was conceived as part of my project “L’anabase” during my residency at @wonder.cabinet in Bethlehem. As most of the project’s pieces, the sculpture was the opportunity to dive into a local craftsmanship. Made in collaboration with Akram Anastas, the process also resulted in a photography series, meant to highlight Akram and his team’s work.

Thrilled to welcome @aho_ssan aka Niamké Désiré on this new episode of L’anabase. His work quietly haunted the last season of L’anabase before fully inhabiting it here through a selection of his own.
His compositions move through layered tensions, rupture and flow, precision and collapse, building sonic landscapes that feel fragmented, visceral, and deeply immersive. There’s something in the way he works with space, silence, and low frequencies that strongly resonates with the research behind L’anabase: crossing thresholds, drifting through unstable forms, moving deeper into a kind of circular and suspended state.

With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity.
