Softer Studio.

Softer Design Studio is a Melbourne-based project founded by cabinetmaker and furniture designer Dustin Fritsche.

After completing a successful and rewarding cabinet-making apprenticeship in the far north coast of NSW, Dustin studied furniture design at RMIT in Melbourne to further broaden his skills and appreciation for design. Since then, Softer has been gaining momentum with custom pieces being sent to clients across Victoria and interstate.

Softer has a growing range of products and a vast portfolio of bespoke pieces, from
stand-alone furniture to built-in cabinetry. Every Softer item is made to last using sustainable and renewable materials when possible, with very close attention to detail and quality control.

Alongside an incredible line-up of leading galleries and design studios, @beciorpin and I are thrilled to be exhibiting as part of @futureobjekt at @melbourneartfair 2026.

Envisioned as both stage and showcase, FUTUREOBJEKT is the new collectable design salon dreamed up by Melbourne Art Fair as a platform for discovery.

Here, objects refuse to behave, ideas
shapeshift, and design, architecture and art collide in unpredictable ways. The program brings a sharpened curatorial lens to the design landscape, amplifying the voices and material narratives shaping contemporary culture today.

A fair-within-a-fair, FUTUREOBJEKT is built for encounter, disruption and the thrill of the not-yet-known.
We look forward to seeing you there.

FUTUREOBJEKT at Melbourne Art Fair,
19 – 22 February 2026

Today is the last day to catch Comfort Zone as part of @ngvmelbourne Melbourne Design Week. Thank you to everyone who has come and seen and enjoyed the show and given us such great feedback. It really means a lot! Thank you to @openjournal_neometro for allowing us to use their space and to @eltongroup for supplying all the amazing @alpi_wood veneers we got to work with and @noveraustralia for providing the @salice.official hardware. Also a massive thank you to all the wonderful people who helped with the finer details. I’ll be at 11 Wilson Ave Brunswick from 10-5 today, so come on down and visit me after getting a coffee from @drip.coffee.drip or a bakery treat from @iristhebakery and lastly thanks to @phamstapham for the exhibition photos! Thank you!!

I’m excited to present ‘Comfort Zone’ - an exhibition of furniture pieces created with @softerstudio as part of @ngvmelbourne Melbourne Design Week.

‘Comfort Zone’ explores unexpected connections between traditional techniques & contemporary digital design. From cross-stitched grid to pixelated screen, the handmade and machine-made begin with the same logic. How does centuries-old embroidery technique mirror the structure of MS-DOS graphics or ASCII art?

These contrasting themes will be explored using a variety of modern & traditional techniques - woodworking, screen-printing, embroidery, digital printing - to create pieces that combine playfulness with concept.

‘Comfort Zone’ opens Thursday 22nd May 6-9pm, at 11 Wilson ave, Brunswick (space generously provided by @neometro). Exhibition then continues 23rd / 24th / 25th May 10-5pm daily.

Pieces from the show will be available on special order.

Huge thanks to our supporters:

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
