It's exactly 100 years today since the premiere of this absolute gem of a piece, Leoš Janáček's 'Kreutzer Sonata' 🎼
The quartet was inspired by Leo Tolstoy's 1889 novel (recommend), in turn inspired by Beethoven's 1803 Violin Sonata (also recommend, obv) 📖 🎻
This is one of our fave moments from the 2nd movement at our concert at @wigmore_hall last year ❤️
A fiery end to the first movement of Beethoven’s Quartet no. 15 op. 132 live from @spotlightchamberconcerts. Head to our YouTube channel to watch in full!

Korngold at his most golden and heartbreaking ❤️🩹
Thanks to everyone who came to watch us in Sydenham last week and huge thanks to @ense_mble26 for making it happen ⭐
We’re next playing this gorgeous music on Thursday at @kettlesyard - hope to see you there!
P.S. shout out to the volunteers who keep churches looking pretty! 💐

Can’t wait to return to my fave place on earth, @kettlesyard , on Thursday 21st to perform a super exciting programme of @latimer_ryan , Korngold and Dvorak!
From Kettle’s Yard website :
‘Music at Kettle’s Yard has a long and illustrious history, its roots nurtured by both the Edes. While Helen was more the musician, regularly setting herself at fiendish piano works, Jim also acknowledged the importance of music as an art form. Our archivist Frieda Midgley unearthed a quote dating back to his early life, talking about music at the Barnes Foundation (A Visit to America, 1931): ‘All the afternoon we studied forms of modern expression – Stravinski, his traditions, his personal expression and Matisse as a parallel. We surrounded them with Mozart and Gluck, with Giorgione, Cezanne and Renoir – we saw quite clearly how all was ordered in their apparent disorder. This combination of music and painting is so right and so helpful, like alternating cheese with wine; but how surprised the public would be in our English Galleries if the lecturer suddenly turned on a jazz band or a Beethoven Quartet.’

In one week we will be welcoming the @solemquartet for a concert of Music spanning 800 years, from 12th Century plainsong right up to the present day. They will open the programme with a work by Hildegard Von Bingen-but who was she? Born around the year 1098, Hidegard Von Bingen is possibly one of the most remarkable women ever to have lived. Her simple, monophonic, sacred music tells of a time of simplicity and peace, where the divine and the real were often mixed. Will Newell, the quartet’s second violinist, has arranged her music for string quartet adding his own harmonies and textures, combining the 21st century with the 12th, creating a whole new soundworld. #plainchant #hildegardvonbingen #newmusic #localmusic #se26 @elliefagg @sydenhamsocietyofficial MAY 15th 7pm @stbartssydenham www.ensemble26.com for tickets

Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
