At Solidaire, we believe that every individual is sacred and that every one of us has a strategic role in building a more just and sustainable world.

Solidaire is an intergenerational and cross-class community reimagining philanthropy to mobilize unprecedented solidarity to the front lines of social justice movements. Together, we seek to expand what it means to be a funder, whether as an individual, through a family foundation or within a large philanthropic institution.

As a network, we are more powerful than we could ever be on our own.

If you are an individual with wealth, a foundation trustee or foundation staff and you are looking for a community of belonging that will push you to expand the meaning of being a funder and provide pathways for you to deepen your connections to movements for justice.... Hello! We'd love to get to know you.

Learn more about joining Solidaire by visiting SolidaireNetwork.org or dropping us a message.

Most wealthy progressives give a little, feel guilty, and stay on the sidelines. That's not giving strategy, it's giving failure.

#TransformativeDonorOrganizing is a radical new guide by Isaac Lev Szmonko from Solidaire Network that shows how to build political homes where wealthy people become lifelong movement comrades, redistributing the majority of their wealth, leveraging their power for Left strategy, and organising other rich people to do the same.

No more shame. No more hiding. No more tiny donations.
Time to get to unlocking billions for working-class-led #movements.

Read the guide. Join the network. Organize the rich.

Rich People Role Models/Classy Class Traitors #425

Stanley Levinson was a wealthy Jewish businessman from New York, who helped manage the Communist Party’s finances before shifting his financial prowess towards funding the Black Freedom Struggle. Together with his comrades Ella Baker and Bayard Rustin, he helped channel support to local movements in the South, hoping that one of them would light a spark that could set off a regional movement. When the Montgomery Bus Boycott erupted, these three master strategists provided everything from funding and networking, to the direct mentorship of Martin Luther King. The spark was lit.

From that moment on, Stanley became Martin’s invisible confidant…the man who Martin would call if he woke up at 3am with emotions he needed to process, or with new ideas to explore. Stanley did everything from ghostwriting for Martin, to doing his taxes, to being a relentless fundraiser for the movement. In a letter to Martin refusing payment for his services, Stanley wrote that he valued using his financial acumen “not for myself but for socially constructive ends. The liberation struggle is the most positive and rewarding area of work anyone could experience.”

Thank you @showingupforracialjustice, @abby_giuseppe and Lynn Burnett for making this beautiful piece of movement art and inspiration.

Money talks. The far right is shouting.

Meanwhile, 'progressives' are whispering, “can we circle back on this?”

Dive into our new substack piece which features some of our funder friends & allies (@weavingliberation, @mamacashfund, @dalanfund, safe passage fund, @blackfeministfund, @solidairenetwork @womendonors) as well as blueprints on how to organise wealth from the Block & Build frontlines of the US dystopia.

Promise that it's more uplifting than it seems..

And yes dear cynics, of course it is easy to call philanthropy a neoliberal karma-tumor, but puritanism may obfuscate actually radical, life-sustaining ways of moving money in the here and now.

On this Earth Day, we call attention to ongoing ecocide in Palestine and pay homage to Palestinian-led efforts to defend the Earth and sustain life against all odds.

Here we share the anonymous words of a Palestinian environmental defender whom we are honored to work with.

Solidaire Board member Alan Preston has a powerful new piece in the National Center for Family Philanthropy: “Overcoming Barriers to Giving: My Personal Story of Wealth Redistribution.”

In this article, Alan offers a clear call to philanthropy to do more in this moment — naming the urgency of redistributing wealth at a time when crises are deepening and too many funders are holding back.
By sharing his personal journey of redistributing a multimillion-dollar inheritance and resourcing movements through the Arch Community Fund, he sheds light on the emotional and cultural barriers that often stand in the way — and what it takes to move toward more values-aligned action.

“Through my personal and professional experience in philanthropy, I believe that the redistribution of wealth and power can heal our hearts and our world. As donors and funders, we must confront the obstacles holding us back from giving like we want to win. Now is the rainy day we have been waiting for.”

This thoughtful article is a powerful tool in moving donors from intention to action.

Seattle. How I love you! You were my late twenties and early thirties home. 5 years. You taught me so much. You helped me learn how to be all in. I met so many of my lifetime loves.

And now you’ve hosted the third ever book talk for Free the People to Free the Money to Free the People. 🎉 🙌 📖 🌳 🌊 🎉 Thank you for coming out and celebrating with @diaryofababa, @v.mijo, @chereonchen and I.

Thanks to our cosponsors @svp.seattle, @donorsofcolor, @inataifdn and Progress Alliance of Washington.

Photos below from our third ever book talk, this time in my second home of Seattle, Washington with so many leaders, friends and colleagues I deeply respect and cherish in this work. I particularly loved the chance to share the stage with Seattle based contributors to the anthology, Mijo and Sharon.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible!

May we build the cross-class coalitions we need to repair and rebuild.

What if “giving back” was never really giving back? Wealth has historically been extracted from land and labor, from communities that never saw it return. And philanthropy wasn’t built to fix that. Solidarity Philanthropy starts by naming this honestly and asking what it would actually mean to return what was taken and “re-make” philanthropy... so that everyone benefits.#SolidarityPhilanthropy #GiveBack #Philanthropy

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
