We're frequently asked about different astronomy filters and how they affect nightscape images. Here's a set of images using different combinations of the most common filters and the results.
All images were captured using a Visible + H-Alpha Astromodified Canon EOS R5 Mark II and a Sigma Art 14mm f:1.8 lens. Camera, Lens, and filters were provided by Spencer's Camera and Photo. The foreground was captured using the Visible + H-Alpha modified camera with no filters. The sky portion was captured using various filter combinations to show the effect of each filter. All sky images were tracked using a Benro Polaris. Image processing was performed using Adobe Photoshop and PixInsight.
Please email us or refer to our website with any questions regarding available filters and practices for your specific gear.

5.19.2026 - A very rare 50+mi visibility night at the Headlands! 🪄✨ Stay tuned for a proper timelapse…🤘🏽

Thrilled with how this new timelapse I shot on Sunday turned out!
At first I was worried the fog would build too much and block the Milky Way, but it actually ended up being perfect and added some drama to the scene.
Canon R6iii is quickly becoming my main camera for timelapse!
1000 shots over around 4 hours

Happy #MilkywayMonday
There’s something different about being somewhere truly dark
Not dark in the city sense
dark enough that the stars begin filling the empty space
dark enough that starlight feels like part of the landscape
50 stacked broadband exposures
30 stacked triband exposures
single shot foreground blend
Faint high clouds contributes just the right amount of filter to make Scorpius pop. 🤌🏽
Space is wild
Still learning
Still chasing light

I’ve been testing the new GoPro Mission 1 Pro for several months now under a non-disclosure agreement.
I’m so excited to finally show you images from this little camera!
It has a new 1” sensor and amazing low-light performance. While it won’t completely replace my full-frame prosumer mirrorless, it will definitely be my second camera for quick nightscapes, timelapses, amazing video, and BTS content.
This camera is a huge jump from the Hero 13 Black!
SPECIAL DISCOUNT: Images from the Mission 1 series were not supposed to be released until May 21st, but GoPro has given me special permission for our Nightscaper channel AND a 10% off Promo Code (nightscaper10) for pre-orders made before May 21. You’ll also get a free Point-and-Shoot Grip (valued at $99.99). Shipping for the Mission 1 and Mission 1 Pro is slated to begin on May 28. Pre-orders are not yet available for the Mission 1 Pro ILS (Interchangeable Lens System).
Go to @gopro and click on “gopro.com/MISSION1” in their bio.
Use the “nightscaper10” Promo Code in the “payment” section to reduce your price when pre-ordering.
You can also learn more about shooting with the MISSION 1 series in my Patreon: www.patreon.com/roycebair

Southern Lights - New Zealand
You could see the flares with the naked eye, no colour though, and this is wide angle to obtain the Milky Way and Magellanic Clouds, so Aurora looks very minuscule!
But it was 16 years ago I first shot them in the Northern Hemisphere, so a bit of a bucket list night, just cannot believe it’s taken so long 🫤💫.

Starlight highway 💫
Some places just hit different at night 🙌🏽
On a recent mission with the bro @shadowandshadenz would be rude not to stop at the starlight highway sign and kill the engine… nothing but silence, cold air, and a sky doing its thing overhead.
No rush, no noise… just stood there taking it in while the stars slowly took over.
Haven’t explored much around this area and look forward to getting back there soon 📸

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
This free tool allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously, ensuring your activity remains hidden from the story uploader.
Anonstories lets users view Instagram stories without alerting the creator.
Works seamlessly on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and modern browsers like Chrome and Safari.
Prioritizes secure, anonymous browsing without requiring login credentials.
Users can view public stories by simply entering a username—no account needed.
Downloads photos (JPEG) and videos (MP4) with ease.
The service is free to use.
Content from private accounts can only be accessed by followers.
Files are for personal or educational use only and must comply with copyright rules.
Enter a public username to view or download stories. The service generates direct links for saving content locally.
