The team here on site literally raised the roof at @splitrock__studios

I keep hearing that things take time.

It’s hard to be ok with that statement when time costs so much, mostly being monetarily.

I picked up this giant split granite slab from @capeanngranite almost 2.5 years ago with a vision of matching our mailbox post and continuing the “split rock” aesthetic of our brand and dream.

Today, it was finally installed (with the help of the amazing TW crew and my operator dad).

It took a long time to go from laying on the ground next to my trailers to upright ready for some address numbers (soon to be designed by @wirebyryan and @lindsayhall_art ) I can say the feeling I had standing on it was definitely worth the wait. I’m praying I continue to feel that feeling as all of the other insane things we have been waiting to finally see finally get seen here at @splitrock__studios

Wild Women Unite

This photoshoot was so special to me and these women. We were making our rage and our voices heard through art. This photoshoot was to support the center for reproductive rights. Our voices need to be heard now more than ever.
A picture is worth a thousand words and that’s why I make art. To tell stories and make a difference no matter how small.

I would love to do more group photoshoots like this supporting different causes and bringing artists together to speak our minds through art. I would love to open it up to models and photographers to join in.

Also! Big shoutout to my friend Ryan for hosting us and making our fire 🔥

Second floor walls have started! 🏢🪵🪜

It is insane to see how much progress (and weather) has changed over the last few weeks!

The crew is cranking, we have had literally thousands and thousands of pounds of lumber delivered and installed, and there’s no sign of slowing down!

It’s incredible how quickly sections of our building are coming to life and how much changes on site every other day.

We. Have. Walls. (well, the start of them…)

It is surreal to finally see the shapes and sizes of the rooms here at Splitrock Studios finally jumping off of our building plans and into real life. After years of staring at drawings, we are now walking through hallways, rooms, and doors.

WE HAVE A (sub)FLOOR!

Despite literally feet of snow and icy cold wind and weather, we have lumber being framed on our foundation and windows and doors on site after months and months of holding.

The next few months are going to be filled with such huge visual and physical changes to our site. We can’t wait to share them with you all!

We cried tears of joy today…

After over a year of delays, many different companies, and so much paperwork, the steel structure of our building arrived!

34,571 lbs. of steel made up of 102 individual structural elements. Absolutely crazy!

We can’t wait to share more soon. Today the ball started to finally roll for us 🪨❤️
