📚 SRC LEGAL SERVICE
✊ SRC Collectives

We know many students are feeling upset, isolated and diminished by the Federal Government's decision to double the 485 graduate student visa fee, especially on such short notice, with so little forewarning or explanation. Thousands of lives have been upended by this decision, and whilst we personally know multiple students who want to publicly speak out and express their strong feelings about this, we also know that many are worried about any potential risks this might entail given their precarious visa status.
This inbox then is for those affected to have their voices heard, whilst remaining safely anonymous.
Submissions can be ANYTHING you would like.
We want to give YOU a voice, so it’s entirely up to you what you would like to say.
These anonymous submissions will be collected and then posted as we build up to our speak-out on the 29th. We hope this will form a powerful collective statement against the government’s shameful decision, and highlight this issue on the level of lived experience.
If you are or know a migrant student affected by this, or just feel ashamed to live in a country that acts this cowardly, make a submission (link in bio) and pass this form on to any and all who would also like to have their voices heard.

Joint Statement from SUPRA and SRC: New $5 Canteen Coming in Semester 2
Dear Students,
In August 2025, following advocacy efforts by student representatives from SUPRA and SRC, the University of Sydney launched a pilot $5 hot meal program, which has been widely welcomed by students. Since the program began, University of Sydney Postgraduate Senate Fellow Weihong Liang, SUPRA Co-President Yiman Wu, and SRC President Grace Street have worked with the University through the Campus Canteen Advisory Working Group, conducting student site tours and attending joint meetings with the University to explore improvements and better respond to student needs.
Through these ongoing efforts, the University of Sydney will open a new $5 canteen at the Electrical Engineering Building (J03) in Semester 2, 2026. The new canteen will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner services, alongside expanded seating areas, offering students a more stable, convenient and affordable on-campus dining option.
The new canteen is expected to commence operations from approximately 3 August 2026, subject to construction progress, and will be located on Level 1 of the Electrical Engineering Building (J03). The current $5 lunch service at Level 3 of the Wentworth Building will continue operating until Friday, 29 May 2026.
We welcome this substantial step forward in affordable student dining and thank students for their continued feedback and engagement. SUPRA and SRC will continue working to ensure the long-term sustainability of the $5 canteen initiative and to better serve all students.

When ending your tenancy, make sure to take photos of everything; walls, floors, shower, sinks, kitchen, windows, everything. Email those photos to your yourself, so that you can prove that you did not damage the property and left it in good condition.

This is my second last Honi report for this semester – how time flies! You will all be busy preparing for the end of the semester and deciphering who is who (extra hard this year) in the USU elections running this week, so I’ll keep it brief. Here’s a few things you need to know about what’s happening and what the President and SRC are doing about it:
Two students are reported to have received a University complaint regarding a poster featuring the Handala image, which the SRC stands against – this is a pattern of intimidation and targeting of pro-Palestine activism. Join the rally on campus this Wednesday at 1pm.
The cost-of-living and fuel crisis impacts continue to crush students, and I am continuing to follow up on projects in the works which include a free period product dispenser on campus, the new $5 meal canteen in Semester 2, and further publishing the SRC’s ‘Guide to Living on Little Money’.
Last week was the commemoration of the Nakba, marking 78 years of the dispossession and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Students for Palestine and the SRC led an on-campus protest to spotlight the institutional complicity over decades.
This week, a meeting of the Academic Standards and Policy Committee will be discussing a proposed change to University calendars which includes removing the STUVAC period for non-semester intensive units. Students have already shown they are against this proposal – students shouldn’t have to have more condensed units and less study time just because the University has over-enrolled and is lacking enough rooms and teachers. It is a quality of education, disability and carer justice, and student welfare issue. I’ll provide an update to this as soon as I can.
Make sure to follow @src_usyd and sign up to our newsletter to get all the news of what’s happening and what campaigns are coming up!
In solidarity,
Grace

The University of Sydney must apologise for this complaint that exemplifies current patterns of cracking down on free speech and anti-Palestinian racism. @studentsagainstwar_ have called for a snap rally on Wednesday at 1pm on Eastern Avenue to protest this injustice.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
