🏆 The Parks, Herefordshire | @ribawestmids Regional Award Winner 🏆
“By celebrating its history while accommodating contemporary living, it creates a place that is both grounded and distinctive.”
We’re delighted to share that The Parks has been awarded a RIBA West Midlands Award 2026, alongside the RIBA West Midlands Project Architect of the Year 2026 for @stolonstudio ✨
This thoughtful and ambitious retrofit transforms a derelict dairy farmstead in rural Herefordshire into eight low-carbon homes set within a richly biodiverse shared landscape.
Working sensitively with 15th and 19th century timber-framed barns alongside mid-20th century agricultural buildings, the project carefully preserves the character of the site while creating contemporary homes full of warmth, delight, and individuality.
🌿 More than housing, The Parks creates a shared rural community through:
🍎 A meadow, orchard and raised growing beds
🦋 Wildlife-focused landscape enhancements and a pond
🪵 A resident-managed Library of Things
🏡 A courtyard-led masterplan encouraging sociability while maintaining privacy
The generous living spaces reflect the scale and rhythm of the former agricultural buildings, while material reuse, breathable construction, and local craftsmanship underpin the project’s sustainable approach.
Importantly, the scheme also addresses rural isolation through a Community Land Asset model, embedding long-term stewardship and collective care into the life of the development.
The project demonstrates how heritage conservation, ecological enhancement, and community governance can come together to create meaningful, resilient rural regeneration.
The @riba Awards remain one of the most respected benchmarks for architectural excellence, recognising projects that deliver design quality alongside innovation and meaningful social and environmental value.

Heritage retained. Ecology restored. Rural living reimagined 🌿🏡
We continue our @ribawestmids Awards 2026 spotlight with the shortlisted The Parks, Herefordshire by @stolonstudio.
Transforming a derelict dairy farm into eight low-carbon homes, The Parks demonstrates how heritage-led retrofit can deliver sustainable, community-focused rural regeneration.
A collection of historic timber-framed barns and agricultural buildings have been carefully adapted to retain their character while creating generous fossil-fuel-free homes designed for contemporary living. Existing openings frame views across the landscape, while the agricultural scale and volume of the original barns are celebrated throughout.
Landscape sits at the heart of the project, with shared orchards, meadows, raised beds and wildlife habitats collectively managed through a Community Land Asset model 🌾
Extensive material reuse, solar PVs, air-source heat pumps and ecological interventions contribute to verified A+ upfront and A++ whole-life embodied carbon ratings, alongside significant biodiversity gains.
At its core, The Parks demonstrates how adaptive reuse, ecological enhancement and community stewardship can work together to create resilient, future-focused rural development.
A Regional Award winner? The next Building of the Year? We’ll find out soon…

Something every Londoner should do… the low tide walk at Deptford Creekside! A glimpse of the Laban Centre 🌈 and an experience of 21st century mudlarking. Finds included: touchscreen smart phone, full operational umbrella, several lime bikes, a scooter and hundreds of vape containers. We sampled the river bed and amongst this found young eels, managing to survive! #cleanup #londonwildlife #creekside #londonlife

And here is an inviting peek into one of the interior spaces of the house in Guildford….! This beautiful timber stair rises from the chalk encased lower ground floor, through the timber entrance hall, and up to the master bedroom floor.
Wonderful work by main contractor @hale.uk #archilovers #timberstair #oneoffhouse

Sneak peek at one of our latest projects- very nearly completing….
A beautiful one-off home in Guildford for an amazing client. Working with the marvellous @hale.uk - it’s coming together nicely…. More photos to come #oneoff #archilovers #brickhouse

Having shared space becomes a joy in the spring sunshine. Seeing new shoots, fruit tree blossoms and feeling the warmth of the sun break through is good for everyone’s well-being.
Open-ended, free play or street play in a friendly environment makes for healthy children too. #forestmews #outdoorplay #streetplay #sociablespace

Solidity and lightness - brick and glazing covered in a lightweight veil of mesh for climbing plants, creates contrast, seasonal change, solar shading and habitat.
Spring is an awesome time to be out in the garden or connected with the garden, and when landscape and buildings become one - it’s almost magic….✨ Here at Forest Mews, the garden is a shared space and yet a quiet sanctuary from the city. #smallsite #urbanretreat #sociablehousing #forestmews

Spring has arrived! We adore how buildings transform with the seasons. At Forest Mews, the facade is adorned with climbing plants, making it a seasonal spectacle. From the first green shoots to the fragrant jasmine flowers, the summer shade, and the birds feasting on grapes, even a building can be a garden! #archilovers #backlandsite #londonmews photo by the brilliant @timcrockerphotographer project built by the fabulous @johnperkinsprojectsltd

What a day! The sun was certainly out shining in Herefordshire and for @ribawestmids judges visiting our community-led rural project, The Parks, as part of the 2026 RIBA Awards. As the soil warms, and shoots grow, we all look to spend more time outside of our homes. As architects, we love to work inside and out- creating designs for both the home and the garden.
Here at Fowlescombe Farm Estate, Devon, we designed a unique landscape - featuring a raised formal lawn, linear moat, and an award-winning glasshouse for some very pioneering clients. The estate's total restoration, completed some time ago, demonstrates their commitment to regenerative farming, biodiverse landscapes, survival of rare breeds, organic certification - clients who were way ahead of their time, complemented by the sensitive conversion of historic buildings and new architectural elements that reflect historical lay-lines. #fowlescombefarm #restorativefarming #organicfarm #devon #landscapedesign

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
