Our scene was founded by queer, Black, and Brown people with the clear intention to uplift the marginalized. These spaces were explicitly rooted in love, liberation, and resistance. The dance music scene has always been and must continue to be centered around imagining and creating a safer, fairer, and freer world for all people. Free Palestine.

My debut album "Severe Forward" is out now.
Big love to Joe Buchan (@other__joe) for giving the album some extra TLC on the mastering front. I've been a fan of his work as Other Joe for a long while and loved the mastering he did for Heaven's Chair, Acopia's first record and more than a few Best Effort releases, so it was an honour to finally work on something with Joe.
Up on Bandcamp, Nina and Soundcloud. Most other platforms will get it a short time later. Check the usual spot for links.
Playing a show with @burna.au @innadancehally @girl_tool @know.clu @clutsee tomorrow at Bunker in Adelaide to celebrate. A few shows later in the year too.
Thanks for listening.

I realised I haven't properly shown anything I've been working on in a hot minute and I've been yapping on about an "upcoming release," so here's a teaser with some videos I've plucked from the vault.
This one's called 'The Fires Still.' There'll be more info about this one and a few others in due course.
(This might not be up for long, so enjoy it while it's up.)

Happy 2026! I'd been trying to write up a caption/post that would do the experience, festival and people behind the celebration justice over the last few days, but it's a bit hard to quantify with a word limit, which should tell you how much fun the whole thing was.
Claudia, Elsie and Josh had been talking about doing something like Moon Jelly for a while, so I was psyched when they confirmed it was finally happening. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I found out not long after that they were getting me on the lineup. Naturally, I'm not much of a camper, but when the Small City crew come calling, it'd be a huge regret to turn down the opportunity.
I didn't get to experience the full not-quite-a-weekender, but the 24+ hours I got to spend over in Myponga left me with a lot of enthusiasm and optimism for the dance music scene in Adelaide, not in the least due to the fact that everyone on the lineup played a right ripper of a set (whether I witnessed it or listened to the recordings after the fact). It also helped that I happened to be hanging out with a LOT of legends the whole time.
There's already a few sets slowly starting to crop up (I highly suggest you check out DJ Breaking Even's set - his is one that REALLY lit a fire under my butt), but to mark the occasion, I've uploaded my set onto Soundcloud. Mind, I was playing between 3-5AM and I'd been up for 24 hours at that stage (courtesy of the cold brew which Hunter saved for me, a batch of roasted spiced almonds I'd made for the all-nighter and one too many White Claws), so the delirium may show at points. (cont. in comments)

Yes, I did a 2025 recap earlier this month, but a few things I couldn't bear to leave out happened shortly after I posted it, so here it is again. This year was decent, all things considered.
Also, if ya scroll through, there's some lists of things I enjoyed from this year.
Big shout-out to everyone who supported "Severe Forward" this year.
See ya in 2026! 🫡

Our 10 Years of NLV Records mix series, exclusive to @applemusic, brings together sets from our all-out, late-night venue takeover celebrating a decade of boundary-pushing club sounds.
Our latest mix comes from two artists that are at the heart of the NLV Records family, @strictface and @swickswick. Linking up for a set that highlights their shared ear for the vibrant, eclectic palette that have defined the sound of the label over the past decade, the mix blends UK bass, leftfield house, rap edits, global sound and more.
Listen now via the link in our bio 🔗

@strictface is a producer/DJ from Adelaide.
“Art has always had political roots, no matter how subtle the commentary may be. To claim that politics has no place in art would be an ignorant way of consuming it.
By extension, to not speak up on the atrocities and suffering that Palestinian citizens have had to endure over several decades, let alone in the last 23 months, would be a betrayal of not only our privilege of using our voice as artists, but a betrayal of the foundation of people’s rights to live safely and securely.
It is in this thought that I unashamedly stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and advocate for their freedom, and also condemn the lack of substantial action from governments throughout the world towards ending the ongoing genocide being inflicted on Palestinians.”

As promised, an Unsound recap and some documentation of the whole weekend, in a vague "diary" format. Something tells me I should've kept this for the drafts.
There's a few other occurrences I forgot when I was writing it (i.e. the post-gig chinwag with Aya where I managed to find out where she sampled the vocals in 'Leftenant Keith' from, overhearing Elly talk about American native land conservation with Raag, me forgetting to ask the Raime lads about the one-off Yally single they did) that now spring to mind, but that's indicative of how rammed Unsound weekend gets.
The clips of my DJ set (thanks @themoonsarrows + @isobelstolinski for the footage! Dunno who from Illuminate took the other clip though) have music from Pepé, a segue between new Peder Mannerfelt and Amor Satyr & Siu Mata, and a snatch of a VVS1 track I've been obsessed with recently.
I'm also reminded that @miles.dunne.artist and Aly Bennett have something at ACE Open on Saturday, which I'll also be scoping out at some point. Perhaps I'll see some of you around the West End traps this weekend.

This episode w @strictface gets 5 big booms 💥💥💥💥💥
We went deep on the origins of @nlvrecords w Stricty, from meeting Big Nina online via soundcloud, to being in the same club as his soon-to-be labelmates at NLV Presents events, and eventually becoming a founding member of the iconic local independent label now celebrating their 10th bday <3
We also dug into Strict Face's debut album 'Severe Forward', the gritty culmination of all the sounds and scenes he's been influenced by for years. From his roots as a grime producer to funk carioca, techno, UK funky and beyond, it's all blended up in his first full-length project and in the wild mix Stricty recorded for the show.
You can listen back to the episode via @fbiradio or stream Strict Face's mix on the SWITCH soundcloud :))

@strictface is back for his fourth (!!!) mix on SWITCH since he first came through the show in 2018 💞
It's a big year for Stricty!! He just released his tangled, twisted, untamed debut album 'Severe Forward' after over a decade of incredible underground club production. Now he's up from Adelaide to play @nlvrecords' 10th anniversary party - a major moment for a local label who've always pushed bold global club sounds with Strict Face in their inner circle.
Tune into @fbiradio from 10pm to catch Strict Face w the gang - @sandrolami @sabrina.pereiraa @ceestep_ @carlatuttocuore <33
I'm a few days late on this, but I've got a track on the newest @reasonstodancelabel compilation!
Been following the label for a little while now, and @daser.dj + @fionn__kc had been in contact over the last year to try and get something going as far as potential work. Just as I was finishing off "Severe Forward" at the start of the year, the planets aligned. A couple of months later, the final unmastered mix of 'In Rings' (which ALMOST made the album, but didn't quite sit right within the framework) was submitted. The rest is history, evidently.
'In Rings' is a little more subtle compared to "Severe Forward" but it's no less forward-moving: there's heaps of oddball percussive elements and a humble little melody threaded in there.
It's out now on @reasonstodancelabel's Bandcamp - the whole compilation's class. You can also scope out the link in the usual spot.
The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
