I suppose every loss is heartbreaking. But losing Chester has always been particularly tough. Even back to our first time together he was there for real conversation. This moment with me, Chester and Mike Shinoda took place in a freight elevator inside the MuchMusic building. The world didn’t know these guys yet.But LINKIN PARK was about to explode.Today we should all be celebrating his 50th birthday… Instead, we remember him. I wishhe was still here for many reasons, one… so that he’d feel the impact he’s had on so many. #linkinpark #linkinparkfans #linkinparkforlife

Which one’s better? šŸ¤”šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦. I ask @strombo his thoughts on healthcare in both countries since he’s lived in the States as a Canadian. I’ve also experienced both and couldn’t agree with him more.

"You are her Taylor Swift." ✨

When they sat down last week, Dr. Jane and George Stroumboulopoulos spoke about the state of the world, what Dr. Jane learned from animals, how she feels about her impact on people, what she says her next adventure is, and much more.

Dr. Jane also had some advice for Maggie, a nine-year-old girl in the audience who is interested in becoming a biologist. 🌿

What was her advice? Check out the video – and then grab your notebook, head out into nature, and become the biologist you've always wanted to be!

Refreshingly open.

Really enjoyed this conversation with Robert Pattinson - thoughtful, curious, and clearly drawn to films that are a little stranger, riskier, and harder to define.

You can trace it through the characters he’s chosen too. Outsiders, contradictions, beautiful messes. That’s what makes his career interesting.

Plus he makes an incredible #batman .

He changed the job description of what a comedian could be.
He was a cultural diagnostician disguised as a stand-up comic.

He rolled the critique of systems, distraction, and power structures into his work and that’s why his material from decades ago still feels super on point.

This a George Carlin appreciation post on what would have been his 89th birthday.

Happy Birthday Mr. Carlin.

Foundational.
I first heard the Clash when I was a kid.

As I got older the words and actions of Joe Strummer really resonated with me and played a major role in my social and political engagement.

Got to have a chat about him and other music related stuff with sisters Katie and Sarah AKA @girlslikerocktoo.

I don’t think there’s a real answer to the question of how much one person can sacrifice for their family. If you were raised by a single parent, you know.

My mother is the most incredible, resilient, and ferociously selfless person I’ve ever met.

Being raised by a single parent is its own particular experience. Add the resolute power and the societal-indignity of being a woman trying to do it alone in the 1970s, and the foundation goes much deeper. So does the tenderness. So does the connection we have with each other.

Today can be a complicated day for a lot of people. Not to mention all the dog mom’s feeling attacked from mom mom’s.For me, it’s one of gratitude. Growing older, you start to see the frailties in yourself and the people you love and somehow that only makes you more grateful for what they gave you when they had less to give.

Happy Mother’s Day to the wilderness that is my mom.

History usually looks obvious in retrospect. Breaking ground in real time is much different.

The office of Governor General has existed since Confederation and its taken more than 150 years for the first Indigenous person to hold it.

And that person is Mary Simon. As her term comes to an end this yearand with Louise Arbour announced this week as the next Governor General - I’ve been thinking a lot about Mary’s time in the role.

So being invested into the Order of Canada by her was super special to me.

But one of the best things at the ceremony was seeing @christi_belcourt who is first MƩtis artist to have her work displayed at Rideau Hall being honoured by the first Indigenous Governor General - a real historic and moving moment.

Also: long before Rideau Hall, Mary taught me a thing or two in this clip about Inuit culture - about 14 years ago.

Thank you for your service, Mary.

Most people don’t burn out from the bad news.
They burn out from forgetting there’s still a beach somewhere.

The world will hand you enough reasons to stay angry forever.

But refusing to become emotionally body slammed by all of it? That’s resistance too.

There’s still hanging with people you love. Records that crackle at the perfect moment. Last-minute road trips.
And don’t let the turkeys get you down.

Here’s a clip from @wordswmichelle

We’ve had conversations with the women on this podcast about the disturbing discovery of ā€œRape Academyā€, but rarely do we get a chance to ask a man for their thoughts. This week, we’re asking Strombo about it.

Strombo shares how he is fighting this toxicity amongst his male friends and colleagues and how we can spread the right messages.

In a world of mounting challenges and terrifying things that we need to address, here’s something near the top of that list - the quality of soil.

Yes dirt. It’s the basis of almost everything that we need - it’s essential as it supports plant growth, stores water, and provides nutrients (and therefore food!).

All kinds of numbers out there showing that we’re in big trouble, period. But as always, so many people are fighting to make it better.

If you’re wondering how you can get involved, here’s one way.
This Saturday in Toronto and Edmonton there’s SAVE SOIL walk-a-thons happening… all connected to one of its advocates - Sadhguru.

He’s been a guest on the old red chair talk show back in the day. One of the things we did bond over was our love of motorcycles. So he was willing to stop his road trip and pull over on the side of the road and pop on for a quick moment to talk about it.
Take a watch.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
