We brought the nightmares of Derry to the streets of Stockholm for @hbomax . Using @unrealengine and real-time skeleton tracking, we developed an eerie OOH experience where Pennywise’s balloons haunt your every move.

For one night only, we brought a Stranger Things moment to life by producing four 60-metre projections stretching along Sveavägen in Stockholm, transforming Hötorgsskraporna into a full-scale spectacle.

Vines crawling over the tiles, Demogorgons breaking through the walls, and a portal to the Upside Down opening across all four towers.

Bringing cinematic moments to life for the @netflix Stranger Things Season 5 premiere.

Paper Tails of San Francisco 🐕✨

A projection show nestled beneath the redwood trees at the base of the iconic Transamerica Pyramid, was shown for 10 days as part of Let’s Glow SF, San Francisco’s annual light festival.

Inspired by the true story of Bummer and Lazarus, two dogs who roamed San Francisco in the 1860s, the story follows Bummer as he searches through time for his lost friend.

A quiet celebration of friendship, memory, and storytelling in public space.

128,000 people attended the festival this year.

Path of the Sun is a meditative exploration of the nature surrounding San Francisco, the passage of time, and the fleeting warmth of summer.

Visually, it’s shaped by our love of traditional Japanese woodblock prints, brought to life in @unrealengine and projected onto a brutalist structure in the heart of the city.

This looping artwork was displayed in downtown San Francisco throughout the summer. We hope those nearby had a chance to see it in person!

SMASH is looking for an intern to join us this fall.

We’re after someone with 3D and Unreal Engine experience who is ready to level up and use Unreal to tell captivating stories through the creation of environments, animation, and FX.

We are looking for someone who is:

· Self-driven.

· Comfortable giving/receiving feedback.

· Able to communicate clearly, especially if remote.

A background in animation is a big plus.

The internship would ideally be in person at our studio in Stockholm, but remote could work depending on the situation. We’re offering internship compensation.

'Path of the Sun' is our new projection piece lighting up the PG&E substation in San Francisco’s East Cut district - every night this summer.

Created in collaboration with @a3visual and @theeastcut, the artwork is a 5-minute looping meditation on the natural world around the city - the energy of the sun, the life it supports, and summer's inevitable shift towards Autumn.

Visually, it’s shaped by our love of traditional Japanese woodblock prints, brought to life in @unrealengine & projected on the imposing brutalist structure in the heart of the city.

Become a deep-sea diver in our latest skeleton tracking experience!
We teamed up with @oceanoutdoorsweden to create a first-of-its-kind experience for this year’s NextM event in Stockholm.

Powered by Unreal Engine, we immersed users in a fully interactive underwater world - complete with fish that swim around and avoid you, a flashlight on your wrist, and a secret floor switch that lights up the deep!

The installation now lives on at Ocean offices across Europe, showcasing the exciting potential of what’s possible in the world of out-of-home (OOH) experiences.

Each robot represented a different segment in society: education, health, assistance, and security. Can you guess which was which?

Teaming up with Clay in Stockholm, we produced a 17-minute educational film about Sweden’s forests and the vital role of wood in a sustainable future.

Bringing this to life in 8K resolution with photorealistic nature environments was one of our biggest production challenges yet. Rendered primarily in Unreal Engine, this project pushed our hardware (and brains) to the absolute limit, but the result is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Massive respect to our small but mighty production team!
