Long Live STUDIO TECNA! ⚡

It's taken a while for this to happen and there's still more work to do, but we couldn't wait to share once we got this great new branding from @charliekondras

We've never been a fan of the cars and we're definitely not a fan of Elon's behaviour. We unfortunately couldn't carry on as 'Tesla' when the name feels tainted with a representation that is completely opposed to our values as an inclusive, safe & creative space.

There's more to come on the new name as we work through some further branding developments and a website overhaul etc, but for now we really just wanted to share and welcome our renamed studio - Studio Tecna!

Back in Mother Sheffield recording with the Mad Professor Sheridan at @studio.tecna. The finest of 48 hours.

OUT TODAY – TANGLE 🌱

It’s been a fair while coming, but today the complete EP is released into the big wide world. 🌍

A shift away from my usual introspective, relational songs, Tangle looks to the bigger picture — to climate change, phone addiction, overwhelm, the right-on, and the genocidal times we’re in.

It’s the first time I’ve properly written from outside my own experience, and I think it’s my best writing to date. I’m genuinely proud of this record, and I’d love you to give it a listen. 🎧 (link in bio)

⚡ TESLA LIVE #12 - SUPALUNG x ST CATHERINES CHILD ⚡

SUPALUNG

SupaLung is a new indie-rock outfit composed of singer-songwriter Sam Brookes & multi-instrumentalist, producer Pete Josef.

The duo met some years back on the burgeoning Bristol music scene; being fans of each others work they ended up becoming great friends. Brookes was actually helping Josef build a studio at his home when they decided it was time to combine their love for songs & making records.

Brookes was ready and armed with a vibrant bunch of demos that Josef felt would make an adventurous and exciting debut album.

The name Supalung is inspired by and pays homage to Terry Reid aka superlungs.

One of the UK’s finest rock singers from the mid 60’s.

The group describe their upcoming music as joyous, melodic and experimental.

In their own words: “We wanted to draw from all of the great music across time that we love and put it into this album. The keystone was Joy - if it didn’t make you smile, send shivers of excitement or fill your eyes with joyous tears then we double-backed and started again.”

“Making this album was was a real joyous adventure but the real excitement now is releasing the music and playing live shows. Throughout making this record the excitement about playing these songs live continued to inspire us to create more music. We cannot wait to connect with people at gigs and festivals.”

The groups debut single, ‘Pleasure’, is released on the 21st April on KiAn Records, followed by a single launch tour in May.

St CATHERINES CHILD

St. Catherine’s Child is the pet project of transatlantic singer-songwriter Ilana Zsigmond. This year she has played sets at Americana Fest Nashville, Folk Alliance, Kansas City and UK Americana Music Week in London.

Rhiannon is a Sheffield based singer-songwriter. Decidedly anti-genre in her approach, her music flows between folk, rock, jazz and electronica and touches on much more beside. She combines the angst of PJ Harvey with the introspective melancholia of Adrienne Lenker, all the while a monster talent on the guitar.
