We worked together on building a capsule wardrobe for this press tour, so individual garments could we reworn and restyled- taking a more sustainable (and sensible) approach to styling. Packing 8 looks and accessories into one medium size @kaptenandson.uk suitcase.

Last night was case in point. Reworking and styling the chore jacket (sans shirt) under a grey wool texture blazer, reintroducing one of Ian’s famous scarves… he has a collection that is quite simply epic!
Worn with a smart slim navy chino and kept grounded with a playful colour sneaker. The double jacket layering is total credit to Ian 👌
We wanted to create ‘an artistic, layered look, leaning into fictional artist Julian Sklar’s wardrobe, brilliantly bought to life by Ian in The Christophers.
Each of these pieces were styled previously as completely different outfits.

The actor expressed how thrilled he is to be back doing his first love, #theatre: “It’s one of those things, theatre, if I leave it too long, it becomes a scary thing,” admitting he may have gotten a bit too used to the “safety net” of multiple takes while filming.

“Theatre is still always something that I love to do, when I can. It’s rewarding and you feel so lucky and privileged to be doing this.”
Turner arrived at our photoshoot in central London straight from another full day of rehearsals at the @NationalTheatre, where his new play was due to open.

“I had months and months of travelling back and forth between Bristol, where #Rivals was filmed, and London [where he lives with his wife and four-year-old son], and I thought it would a great idea to take one weekend off after I wrapped for Rivals and go straight into a really intense rehearsal for this play,” he laughs.

The actor of stage and screen discusses his current life on stage at the @nationaltheatre becoming a household name with BBC’s revival of #Poldark, and his everlasting love for the theatre.

Turner currently stars in Les Liaisons Dangereuses Vicomte de Valmont alongside the equally talented Lesley Manville and @monicabarbaro at the #NationalTheatre in London. “You finish the day and you’re absolutely physically and mentally exhausted,” he shared of the rehearsals.
“It’s two hours [in length] and myself and Lesley hardly leave the stage at all and [we’re] telling the entire story from the very beginning to the very, very end. It’s very challenging and even with a couple of weeks to go, it still feels there’s a lot of work to do. But it’s really rewarding work.”

Les Liaisons Dangereuses has limited availability and runs until June 6th 2026.
