Wanjiku an endometriosis warrior looks outside her bedroom window.
Seeing the pain, struggle and extreme body changes that she has to endure on the daily prompted me to start researching on the disease and women's health in general. I found that women's health (especially Black Women) is largely overlooked, neglected and the result is that Women suffer at times fatally because of this. This can and should change and it starts with advocating for better healthcare for Women.
I am happy to share that I am one of @gettyimages @gettyimagescreative 2023 grant recipients.
I look forward to sharing my project once completed.

Reminiscing on my work and how far I have come. I shot this with @clint_malik and @moh_mckenzie way back in 2017when all we had were a point and shoot, hopes and dreams.
Fast forward to 2022 where I had the privilege to show my work at @beijing.biennale and @venice.art.biennale(with @africanwomenphotograph ) and it's truly affirming that consistency does pay off.As I prepare for my first exhibition this year I am truly grateful for everyone who roots for me and mentions my name in rooms that I don't even know about.
I know no one reads captions anymore but oh well🤷🏿♀️.
