“My name is Tabitha Lin, OTD, OTR/L! I'm based in LA, and I graduated from UCLA for undergrad and USC for OT school! I'm primarily an acute care OT at City of Hope and work on the hematology, telemetry, and ICU floors. My residency project was a mixed-methods study collecting data on the feasibility of OT end-of-life interventions in acute oncology. What I found was that despite many barriers of practicing EOL interventions in this setting, OTs can provide care that is relevant to supporting patient participation in whatever it is they choose! The goal of OT in end-of-life care really is to support the patient in being active in the occupations around dying--spending time with family, legacy building if appropriate, and being active in ADLs if they want to be. I'm Taiwanese-American and I've been spending time lately learning muay thai, jiu jitsu, and rollerskating. I'm also an avid Dungeons and Dragons player and play every week with my partner and other friends online!”
