From narcissistic gym selfies to the toxic effects of microplastics — Max Lakin’s review of Preslav Kostov’s Soft Focus in November’s Artforum is a must-read. “Despite Kostov’s splicing, his bodies remained intact, possessed of an unnaturally pliable flesh that never ruptured.”

Cell Repair, curated Eidmann Gallery, is open through June 13!

Examining how material and the body internalize damage, reorganizing into forms that remain in flux rather than restored or resolved. The exhibition frames repair as an ongoing, indeterminate process, not a return to origin. Across varied practices, the works engage rupture, recalibration, and persistence, tracing how form and meaning are reconstituted through stress and transformation.

Our presentation at Esther with Nick Jensen is captured in The Observer by Elisa Carollo! Open through Saturday, May 16th

“Building imagery in layers, the artist engages in a subconscious, emotional exercise, reconstructing a dream by returning again and again to the same subject. Through intuitive layering in tempera and oil, figures begin to emerge from abstraction, led by the alchemy of colors and textures that replicate the phenomenological process by which we see, transform sensation into symbol and meaning, then interiorize it as memory.”

At the gallery this week we have Lu Ferreira’s solo presentation! 🌿

Lu Ferreira attends to the residues of gesture as a site of historical metabolism. Through a process the artist calls “washing,” pigment is layered onto canvas and then worked against itself with toothbrushes, broom fibers, and scraps of rubber, scrubbed, soaked, and wrung until the accumulated matter turns translucent.

Opening next Tuesday, the gallery will participate in Esther III with new works by Julien Monnerie. 💫

Julien’s Potato (curve), 2026, pewter and tinned brass wire. The forms are cast from food molds, dispatches from a vanishing culinary world. Pewter is a proletarian substance, the stuff of cups and spoons, everyday utensils, not sterling silver, nor platinum. Yet there is nothing precious about its origins, yet the surface is intoxicatingly celestial, accepting and reflecting everything in the room without hierarchy.

TONIGHT! Lu Ferreira’s second solo exhibition with the gallery, 6-8 pm!

Lu Ferreira attends to the residues of gesture as a site of historical metabolism. The compositions generate an ambiguous field in which forms appear at once suspended and in motion, biomorphic and unfixed, rooted in the narratives of Ferreira’s life as a Black northeastern Brazilian man. Raised in Pernambuco, in close proximity to Afro-Brazilian spiritual traditions that shaped his visual imagination from childhood.

Thank you to Elizabeth Bandeira for your words and curatorial guidance, and to Daniel Guerra for everything that went into making this exhibition happen.

Cell Repair, an exhibition organized by Eidmann Gallery, is opening this Friday, May 1st, 6–8 pm, including works by Chando Ao, Howard Reyes McLaren, Justin Nalley, and Marika Thunder.

Chando Ao’s paintings operate at the threshold where images begin to form and simultaneously fall apart. Rather than depicting stable subjects, his works stage a condition in which figure, ground, and atmosphere remain in continuous negotiation.

This Friday, we are opening Lu Ferreira’s second solo exhibition with the gallery, 6-8 pm!

“Material is a problem, not a solution,” Ferreira has said, and his surfaces bear out the proposition: what remains is neither image nor erasure but a luminous sediment, the record of a hand that has labored over the surface and, in laboring, refused it. Through a process the artist calls “washing,” pigment is layered onto canvas and then worked against itself with toothbrushes, broom fibers, and scraps of rubber, scrubbed, soaked, and wrung until the accumulated matter turns translucent.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
