As 2024 comes to an end, I just want to take a moment to reflect on something that means so much to me—getting to perform my first Violetta this October. It’s been a dream role of mine for as long as I can remember, and while I know I still have a lot to learn, this experience has been absolutely life-changing.

I’m so thankful to @butlersom and BOC @butleroperacenter for giving me this incredible opportunity, and I can’t thank Dr. Sanikidze @tamartatasanikidze , Prof. Kinney Frost @douglaskinneyfrost , Prof. Bruce, my beloved voice teacher Leah @leahcrocetto our amazing director Aimee @mmiing_com ，and all the performers enough for all your support and guidance throughout this journey.

Escape the summer heat with my new solo marimba piece, “Frostara.” This piece is dedicated to my friend @same.sam_same We were talking about the intense summer heat in Austin, and he mentioned how it reminds him of the wintertime in Oregon. Just like it’s hard to go out in the cold Oregon winter, it’s tough to bear the Austin summer heat. Inspired by this conversation, I composed “Frostara” to bring a refreshing breeze and cool down your senses.

I also had the pleasure of taking the poster photo for Sam. I find it fun and meaningful to collaborate with musicians in all kinds of ways, whether as a composer or a photographer.
