‘Salvation in the Sahel’ (03/06/2023) - is a part of my recentphoto series documenting my time in Mbacké Kadior , a remote village in the Sahel desert(Senegal) . On this day we were called by the village leader Serigne Babacar to attend to the weeds in the desert in order to clear the land for crop growth in preparation for the fast approaching rainy season. Men, women, children gathered and we marched to the clearing. 42 degree heat. Djembes playing. This Baye fall community are rehabilitating and resurrecting the land to the glory it once was. Through faith, song and a clear vision for the future.
I will be selling prints of this photograph ,100% of the profits will be donated. 1/2 the proceeds will go towards building a primary school for the children in Mbacke Kadior and the other half will go towards aid for Palestine. (Sizes 6x8, A5,A4,A3)
