Since we seem rather focused on one band this month, here are a few of the other “recent” posters I’ve made for them since about 2010. While I’ve been lucky to make many other posters for @humbandofficial over the last 30 years, I'm showing these because I have one of each in a drawer and plan to post them at thebirdmachine.com on Thursday at noon Chicago time. The Chicago show from 2010 was at the height of the BP Oil Spill in the gulf of Mexico. The Tyrannosaurus is half of a diptych from two shows the band played in Chicago and Champaign that weekend in 2011. The set of 2015 East / West coast tour prints have backgrounds that connect whether the prints are hung this way or that. The two 12” prints for Electra and YPAA were made as incentives to try to get folks to buy the inventory of old LPs which were stored at Matt’s house. The Grand Rapids show poster featured axolotls and our (then) 4 year old daughter exploring by her favorite tree behind my mom’s house in rural Kansas. Our daughter, Ms Gribbles, has never seen Hum and is looking forward to this weekend at the Aragon. #speedballink

I set a timer to see how many arrows I could draw in sixty minutes since this next concert poster has a high pressure system in it. I don’t mean to brag, but since I’m a professional illustrator I am able to draw arrows from memory, and don’t need to use any reference material most of the time. Happy birthdays to my buddies Sam, Ruby, and Ian.
