We’ve been friends forever—went to school together, started a band together, built careers together, and toured the world together. So when I came home from Mexico with all the album material, there were only two people I trusted enough to help me finish the record.
I’ve never really collaborated on any of my records before, so having someone actively suggest how to finish songs and someone to actually mix my tracks was a first for me. Dorian Concept was the gentle guardian in the background, protecting the originality and essence of the music from my urge to add more parts, while The Clonious pushed from start to finish to make the record sound the absolute best it could. A true team effort.
The best part, though—with how busy everyone is these days—was that we got to hang out all the time, for a whole summer. Turning work into a professional hang!
