today we're sending love & good luck to our chef ailsa. she started with us in august last year, walking into the café having just moved back to london asking for a job just when we needed another chef in the team. hands down the best smile on our roster. she's running the hackney half marathon on sunday, raising money for parkinson's. if anyone has anything to give, the donation link is in our bio.

we'll be open all weekend as usual, ready to refuel anyone taking part in the marathon. so come on down & eat with us & congratulate ailsa who we'll be celebrating.

Visited our chosen charity @bodyandsoulcharity this week and saw their impact up close. They’re rethinking trauma support with evidence-based care, creating space for members, their kids, and chosen families to connect and heal together. It’s rare, it’s real, and it works.

Introducing our next headliner… Ade Oyejobi is 23-year-old doctor and poet from South London, he discovered his love for poetry during lockdown, using it as a tool to explore identity, vulnerability, and truth.

He has worked with organisations such as BMW, GUAP Magazine and Timberland EU, alongside TV appearances on BT Sport and Together TV. He was also a Unislam (UK) finalist in 2024.

Ade captivates audiences with spoken word performances across the UK; using creativity to inspire confidence and self-expression in young people.
