So great to Antoni Cimolino at @hotdocs_ for the launch of “This Above All”, the documentary about the end of his 10 year as the artistic director of the @stratfest last night.
And it was so crazy to have a little mini-reunion of the 1992 Romeo and Juliet cast - Antoni, Megan Follows, Colm Feore and myself (I played Balthasar - Romeo’s “squire”). And wonderful to see our pal, Laura.

So wild coming back to performing to play Charles Frohman/Captain Hook in FINDING NEVERLAND for @draytonentertainment at the Hamilton Family Theatre in Cambridge, Ontario.
At the end of the first act, I have a 46 second quick change from the first outfit (Charles) into the second outfit (Hook). I have to admit I love a quick change and this one is pretty fun. We realized that glueing on a moustache wouldn’t work, taping it on wouldn’t work. So we ended up having to draw it on in the change. And I still end up with about three seconds to spare when I get into position.
We have one more week, y’all. Come see this incredible cast and show.

GASPAR YANGA
Yanga was believed to be a member of the royal family of Gabon. He was captured, sold into slavery and brought to México, where he eventually escaped his chains. He led other stolen Africans to liberty, and established the first free Black settlement in the Americas in the highlands of Veracruz. The settlement remained hidden for over 30 years, but it was eventually attacked by the Spanish. After years of bloody battles, the local government heeded to Yanga’s terms: recognition of the free Black settlements. In 1630, San Lorenzo de los Negros de Cerralvo was officially recognized by the government, and the people left in peace. The settlement remains today in the Veracruz region of México, appropriately renamed “Yanga.”
