BLANCO TETA sind eine unerbittliche verzerrte Geräuschkulisse, kantige Performances, ein transfeministisches Konzept mit einem avantgardistischen Ansatz. Mehr als eine Band, ist Blanco Teta ein performatives Angebot das einen Dialog mit dem Publikum herstellt. Die Band entstand im Kontext experimenteller Kollektive aus der Queer-Latinx-Szene und aus dem Bedürfnis heraus, einen einzigartigen Sound mit einer atypischen Formation zu finden. Blanco Teta besteht aus Carola Zelaschi am Schlagzeug, Violeta García am Cello, Carlos E. Quebrada am E-Bass, und Josefina Barreix am Gesang. Im September und Oktober werden sie mit ihrem neuen Album durch Europa touren und machen dabei auch Halt in Kalk <3

HUYGHEND ist ein auf bis zu 4 Musiker*innen erweiterbares Pop-/Synth/Electronic-Projekt von Simon Waskow und Thomas Meckel. Beide Musiker sind sowohl in Köln, als auch für internationale Projekte im Einsatz. Zuletzt zeigte Simon Waskow für den Soundtrack des mit Hunter Schafer Star-besetzten Films Cuckoo, oder für Gossing/Sieckmanns SIRENS CALL sein Können, während Thomas Meckel mit dem Projekt SONA Musik für Blinde erfahrbar macht. Nach 6-jähriger Pause treten HUYGHEND seit 2024 wieder live auf.

Adriani Botez and I are speaking at @gamescom congress about the future of acoustic VR.
With SONA, we explore VR game design inspired by the everyday navigational skills of blind people. Using headphones, a microphone, motion tracking, and sensory shoes, players embark on adventures built entirely from interactive 3D sound—navigating 80 square meters of VR-tracked space in complete darkness. They hear their footsteps on virtual terrain, use voice commands to control the game, and orient themselves through virtual echolocation. At gamescom congress, Adriani Botez and Thomas Meckel share insights from co-creating stories, game mechanics, and a full adventure game with 19 visually impaired game designers.
