I don't know if it's just coincidence or meant to be, but about 5 months ago, a friend invited me to a noon time concert where she played the Brahms Trio. Wow. I was so angry at myself for not having heard that piece earlier in life. What's also crazy is that the other friend that I dragged along with me (who kept asking what was being performed but I had no idea) was like, "OMG .. They're playing the Brahms Trio!" Apparently one of his favorites.

Well, today I decided to have lunch at Colburn with this friend (@richard.z.wang ) to enjoy a free concert on the plaza. I had no idea what they were playing, so I was in absolute shock and delight when I came up from the elevator to hear them rehearsing the Brahms Trio.

There are two more concerts left in this series and I highly recommend going if you are nearby to make it out on your lunch hour.

Twelve years ago, it was the year of the horse. I returned from the Sundance Labs at Skywalker Ranch and wrote this as the theme for @alreadytomorrowfilmright as I got home. It did the festival circuit the following year and then a theatrical release on this day ten years ago.

In a few days, we enter another year of the horse.
