As Isabella Hammad writes in Recognising the Stranger:

"To remain human at this juncture is to remain in agony. Let us remain there: it is the more honest place from which to speak."

We're helping to organise another solidarity walk to raise money for families in Gaza.

The walk follows the outline of Gaza, transposed onto the towns and countryside of Northumberland, just north of Newcastle upon Tyne.

This is the third such effort we have organised, following similar walks in the Scottish Borders in October 2024 and Edinburgh in May 2025.

With the UN confirming deliberate famine in addition to relentless military assaults, the situation for families on the ground is now even more unthinkable.

It is time to walk again.

In placing one map on top of the other, the first thing you notice is how tiny Gaza is. 25 miles of coastline; a population of over 2 million people; bombed for two years, with barely a pause for breath, and no possibility to hide or escape.

The walk is approximately 64 miles / 103 km long and will take place over 4 days.

Once again, our aim is to raise money to send directly to families in Gaza to help them survive the ongoing genocide.

This time, we are also working with the NewBridge Project, an artist-led cultural organisation in Newcastle, who are providing transport on the Saturday for people wishing to join the walk.

70% of funds raised will go to the Matar family: Suhail, Hanan, Muhammad, Deeb, Ali, Suhaila, Israa, Doaa, Zeina, Sila and Muhammad. Displaced from north Gaza at the beginning of the current genocide, they have repeatedly been forced to relocate over the ensuing months. Suhail was recently attacked at one of the US-run “aid distribution” centres and the medicine he now requires is expensive.

30% of funds raised will go to In Solidarity Edinburgh, a volunteer-run grassroots collective providing mutual aid to Palestinian families in Gaza.

Provisional itinerary

Fri-Mon, 10 – 13 October 2025

Fri: Morpeth to Stamfordham (18 miles)

Sat: Stamfordham to Ponteland (13 miles)

Sun: Ponteland to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea (18 miles)

Mon: Newbiggin-by-the-Sea to Morpeth (15 miles)

Oh hello there, look what’s landed, all yellow and yum. *To an island in a loch on an island in a loch* is here!

A new collaborative artist book between @kirstybadenoch and @tom__jeffreys
It’s designed as a kind of landscape, exploring interplays between drawing and writing, and unfolding overlaps between the multispecies voices of the forest. Borrowing its form from the dimensions of an OS map, a mythological tale leads through ancient undergrowth, and strange drawings emerge from the understorey.

We’ll be launching the book at our exhibition opening this Thursday @staffordshirest or you can preorder through my bio link and we’ll pop one in the post. Limited first edition run of 150 copies, hand bound in pink (yes that’s right, pink) thread

Heading away for a few months and pretty sure I won't have instagram access.

I won't be checking DMs here so if you want me, it's gonna have to be email, like in the past.

According to the 2021 banger by Bashar Murad, where does the intifada take place?

[Clue: it's the same place in which a murder is witnessed by none other than Sophie Ellis Bextor.]

Last night we held a little pub quiz at the brilliant Otherworld Bar & Kitchen on Leith Walk and raised over £1,000 for In Solidarity Edinburgh to distribute to families in Gaza.

Thank you to all the amazing contributions from a whole bunch of different people organising, spreading the word, getting people along, providing prizes, running the raffle, donating etc etc.

If you want to organise your own quiz, I'm happy to send you my questions!

Between October 2024 and October 2025, I've been part of a small group organising three solidarity walks to raise money for families in Gaza.

Each walk has followed the outline of Gaza transposed onto a different location: along the River Tweed in October 2024; Edinburgh in May 2025; and north Northumberland in October 2025.

Emily Cropton, Tiki Muir and I have now put together a little zine to encourage people to organise your own solidarity and fundraising walks.

You can download it as a digital version or as a print-ready version (choose booklet printing). Link in bio!

Emily Cropton, Tiki Muir and I have now put together a little zine to encourage people to organise your own solidarity and fundraising walks.

You can download it as a digital version or as a print-ready version (choose booklet printing). Link in bio!

“The idea that walking away is childish and unproductive is predicated on the inability to imagine anything but a walking away from, never a walking away toward – never that there might exist another destination.”

I'm writing the last few questions right now. Rounds include:

The quiz is being organised by pals from Marchmont cricket club, so you can expect the sports round to major on cricket!

Please book one ticket per person. Your team can be as large or small as you wish. Tickets are on a sliding scale, with a suggested minimum of £20. This is a fundraising event so please be generous if you can. See link in bio to book!

About In Solidarity
In Solidarity is a grassroots, volunteer-run collective based in Edinburgh. They are dedicated to providing mutual aid to Palestinian families in Gaza who are in urgent need of support.

Why Mutual Aid?
In Solidarity chooses to operate as a mutual aid fund. Mutual aid is a practice of radical solidarity that creates networks of care, generosity and love to meet the immediate needs of communities. In Solidarity’s efforts are for Palestinian families and individuals in need of urgent support. They work directly with people in Gaza as well as with those who have been forced to evacuate Palestine to other countries.

"In its combination of tenderness and juddering abrasion, Rehana Zaman’s Soft Fruit suggests the need not only for critique of the conditions under which agricultural labour takes place today, but also for a desire to imagine, perhaps, blurry alternative futures of collective living and growing."

Some fast, loose thoughts in response to Rehana Zaman's new film, Soft Fruit, which had its film festival premiere last night as part of Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival.

"Silvia Federici has written of the 'sacrifice zones' of global capitalism. Soft Fruit touches tenderly upon sacrifice bodies – those people deemed expendable under a system of relentless extraction, who are subjected to hate and violence by resurgent techno-nationalisms."

Head to The Penitent Review for the full thing.

Soft Fruit is also included in Zaman's solo exhibition, Plantation, at Site Gallery Sheffield until 17 May.

"Drawing is a spiritual practice."

Another review from Nottingham - this time a bit looser, more thinking-out-loud for The Penitent Review in response to Shahana Rajani's beautiful, multilayered exhibition, Lines That World a River.

Thinking through sand divination, (non)extractive art practices, ephemerality in the face of colonially-induced climate crisis, and drawing as both normative/controlling and creative/liberatory.

As Jacques Derrida wrote in Memoirs of the Blind: “The experience or experimenting of drawing (and experimenting, as its name indicates, always consists in journeying beyond limits) at once crosses and institutes these borders…”

Or, as Rajani puts it: "The drawing of each line becomes an invitation – to know, to love, to protect, to remember."

Shahana Rajani, Lines that World a River is at Nottingham Contemporary until 10 May 2026.

Dala Nasser’s first solo show at a major UK institution is in part a response to a question she asks me at the opening: ‘How do you produce art when your whole history is being pulled apart?’

In development since November 2023, during the current genocide in Gaza and the 2024 Israeli invasion of Lebanon, ‘Cemetery of Martyrs’ is imbued with loss and grief, but also with love and defiance.

Full review over on Frieze.

Alongside many, many others across the world, I also stand in solidarity with the signatories of @angalliance demands and support their call to exclude the entity from the Venice Biennale.

The widening war we are witnessing did not appear overnight. It grows from years of normalising the entity’s g3n0C1d3 in g4za and its 78-year occupation of p4l3st1Ne.

Culture must not provide cover for g3n0C1d3 and the brutal imperial aggression being unleashed on 1r4n and l3b4n0n.

No g3n0C1d3 pavilion.
No artwashing in our name.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
