It’s been one week since “Six Shades of Grey” dropped! Thank you for all the love!

I’m totally indie. No label or a publishing company behind me at the moment. Your support means the absolute world to me.

The song was inspired by my personal and painful struggle with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. About six months or so after writing this song, I did a three month partial hospitalization program for OCD that was extremely helpful. Exposure and Response Prevention is very scary and unpleasant, but it is effective. I hope this song makes someone else out there feel understood and less alone.

I wrote this song from the depths of OCD suffering, from torturous and painful uncertainty, the shades of grey, the intrusive, all-consuming thoughts and stomach-churning fear. The obsessiveness and compulsions, creating chaos in my brain and life. I’m grateful that this song is out there in the world now. For others with OCD, you’re not alone. And there is light at the end of the tunnel. Exposure and Response Prevention is very, very scary. It feel likes you’re actively choosing to march toward your doom, but it is very effective. It helps OCD so much, if we’re brave enough to take that leap of faith and do the work. It’s still a daily struggle and likely always will be—OCD is always coming up with new ways to put me in its torturous riddles—but when I’m brave enough to be consistent with the work it drastically improves my quality of life.
