Parasites & Power is an Official Podcast Selection at the @tribeca 25th Festival!

Our (forthcoming) audio series is a deep dive into the colonial history of healthcare through the stories of two doctors, one Black and one white, who are fighting for power and influence at the dawn of tropical medicine.

My latest podcast project, Stunt Queen, is headed to Tribeca! I've been working with Dee Farmer for almost 15 years to tell her incredibly special story. She is widely acknowledged to be the first transgender plaintiff ever to have a case heard by the Supreme Court, which she litigated herself from solitary confinement in a men's prison in the 90s. But her story goes way beyond the Supreme Court -- and finally, we're going to tell all of it. I'm humbled to work with a formidable team, including: Cassius Adair, Donald Albright, Precious Brady-Davis, Dana Brozost-Kelleher, Dee Farmer, Laura Flynn, Jazmine JT Green, Christy Gressman, Bill Healy, Lizzie Jacobs, Payne Lindsey, Miroslav Macala, Katrina Norvell, Chijioke Williams, Makeup and Vanity Set, Cooper Skinner and Jon Street. For the past three years, I’ve been working on The Vodou Project. A nine-episode documentary series tracing the history of Haitian Vodou.

The series follows Vodou from West Africa to Haiti, and across the diaspora—from New Orleans Voodoo to Santería—while examining how it came to be labeled as something “demonic,” and the roles of U.S. history and pop culture in shaping that narrative.

Along the way, it also becomes personal. And it helps me reckon with the passing of a few of my own family members throughout the past twenty years.

Through this project I’ve created something to honor my ancestors and, in doing so, built a deeper connection to them.

This project is taking every bit of me to craft. And I’m still in the middle of building it. But it’s also been one of the greatest joys of my life. To date, this is my life’s work.

With all that being said, I’m honored to share that The Vodou Project will be part of the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival.
