This exhibition presents the latest works by graphic designers from all over Switzerland and shows how the new generation contributes to the graphic design landscape.

Today we would like to present you the studio @tristesse2000 from Basel: Julian Bauer, Gregor Brändli, Lucian Kunz and Ieva Zuklyte. It combines the disciplines of graphic design, film, photography, and animation. Their projects are characterized by a maximalist style with striking shapes, expressive colors, and direct, deliberately bold imagery.

🔵 JUNGE GRAFIK SCHWEIZ! – AUSSTELLUNG IM MUSEUM FÜR GESTALTUNG ZÜRICH MIT BEZÜGEN ZUR HGK BASEL 🔵

Die Schweiz blickt auf eine bedeutende Grafiktradition zurück. Doch welche Impulse setzt die junge Szene? Die Ausstellung «Junge Grafik Schweiz!», die vom 24. Oktober 2025 bis 6. April 2026 im Museum für Gestaltung Zürich zu sehen ist, beleuchtet das Schaffen von Designer:innen im Alter zwischen Mitte 20 und Mitte 30 und lädt dazu ein, die Vielfalt gestalterischer Ansätze aus ihrer Perspektive zu entdecken.

Die Ausstellung porträtiert 12 Büros aus der ganzen Schweiz und breitet das Spektrum über das aktuelle und zeitgenössische Schaffen in der Schweizer Grafikszene. Darunter sind verschiedene Positionen mit Bezug zur HGK Basel bzw. zum Institute Digital Communication Environments (IDCE) der HGK Basel, so unter anderen das Büro Tristesse.

Die Ausstellung zeigt, wie sich die junge Szene im Spannungsfeld zwischen technologischen Neuerungen und gestalterischer Haltung, zwischen grafischem Erbe, experimenteller Praxis und gesellschaftlicher Reflexion bewegt.

Zusätzlich zur Ausstellung stehen zu den zwölf porträtierten Studios online spannende Audiostatements, Objektlegenden und weiterführende Informationen zur Verfügung.

The objects were originally collected in the early 20th century by naturalists Paul and Fritz Sarasin, whose expeditions combined scientific curiosity with colonial violence.

Die sechste Ausgabe der Kunsttage Basel bietet vielseitige Erlebnisse und richtet sich an alle Kunstliebhaber:innen und jene, die es noch werden wollen. Über 60 Kunstorte aller Art öffnen ihre Türen und laden zum Entdecken von neu eröffneten Ausstellungen, Sonderveranstaltungen und Rundgängen ein. 2025 zum ersten Mal dabei sind unter anderem das Helvetia Art Foyer, die Galerie Lilian Andrée sowie der Offspace viertel ab.
