TUMO WORKS
An independent, Chicago-based art house.

A full circle moment for Bailey’s Blues to be meeting new eyes tonight in New York as part of the 33rd African Film Festival to close out their opening week at the Lincoln Center.
I wrote the first draft/sketches of the script on hotel notepads during my first (very short) trip to NY almost two years ago. Brooding over the fact that I won’t be there to experience the excellent program (The Art of Protection) Bailey’s is situated in; but smiling all the while because I know the ancestors are indeed protecting and smiling on us our works all the same.
NY friends please go turn it up and support not only this program (tonight at 8pm) but the stellar month ahead organized by the brilliant team behind the @africanfilmfest
Eternally grateful to the programming team behind the gorgeous fest and the brilliant crew that brought this film to life. A TERRIBLE SOUND next!

It’s an honor to announce that Bailey’s Blues has been selected to screen at the 33rd New York African Film Festival #NYAFF @africanfilmfest under the theme ‘As Stars Sow the Earth’:

Our film will screen alongside other brilliant shorts on May 12th with Film at the Lincoln Center @filmlinc at 8:00pm as part of Shorts Program 3: The Art of Protection:

In addition to screening our short film at the @chifilmfest we were able to conclude our year-long participation in the 2024-2025 CIX: Lab Cohort as a part of Industry Days! Over the last year, we developed materials and prepared a pitch for the feature length script A TERRIBLE SOUND. Along with three other amazing projects, we took to the stage to present the pitches live to be judged by veteran Producers Christina Oh, Gabriel Mayers, and Luke Rodgers for a chance to win an over $100k package of local, in-kind support to further develop the film…
We are excited to say that A TERRIBLE SOUND was chosen to receive that package after an immersive live pitch given by writer/director @shilohtumo @tumoworks and producer @just_fabi of @blankgazefw
Thank you to Joyy, Anthony, Vivian, and Kayla for seeing us through over the last year; our brilliant cohort and their amazing, inspiring projects (CATERPILLAR GIRLS, @rodergirl l MOSQUE 4 MOSQUE, @sophiyaa_nayar & @emusandnuns | A PHONE CALL TO WISCONSIN, @mcplaschke & @hannahdkettering | SOMEDAY, OHIO, Meghann Artes, Joe Lyons and @annahozian ); and of course, our amazing creative advisor/mentor Melika @tenderarchive !!!!
A TERRIBLE SOUND is the feature-length answer to our short “Bailey’s Blues”—which will play next at the Black Harvest Film Festival. SOUND is an even deeper, sweeping exploration of jazz history withthe story of a young pianist’s creative and social struggles in 1960s Chicago.
Looking forward to diving even deeper into this story! More info soon!

It is now just over two months since we wrapped principal photography of this special, special film.
Having spent countless hours in the cutting room refining—and sometimes purposely obscuring—this narrative, I can officially announce that we have reached the stage that I believe they call “picture lock”!
Although I have no doubts that initial viewer input will be essential in finalizing the visual beats and pace, that’s enough being alone in the dark with these images for a bit! Now we move into refining & expanding our audio mix with original music, added design, etc. Updates on this will come as we move through the process!
I am happy to say that we are certainly still on track to finalize the film by the end of May! In the meantime I hope you will enjoy the above promotional still taken from our film, nearer to the 4:3 aspect ratio we will present it in.
Yours,
Shiloh

That’s A Wrap!
As of yesterday around 3:30pm, we have wrapped principal photography on “Bailey’s Blues”!
From here, we are buttoning up our production by paying our crew and, of course, shipping out our exposed filmstock tomorrow!
Being able to direct this film has been my sincerest pleasure... I love this story, this crew (which we will highlight soon) and the artful tension of making movies. I look forward to geting right into post within the next few weeks.
Be well! We’ll be back soon :)
Yours Always,
Shiloh

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
