Before roadtripping from New York to Miami, @jarrettearnest dropped by artist Sean Bennett’s studio (@uhmmwhat) to pick up his final passenger.

The passenger in question was a towering—and somewhat delayed—hair sculpture, which Earnest planned to exhibit as part of “Acid Bath House,” a group exhibition curated at @ninajohnsongallery for Miami Art Week.

The show, which features works by a host of queer artists who summon glamour from undervalued materials, opened last night without a hitch. (Even if Bennett could be spotted in the corner adding a few finishing touches to his opus.) All deadlines are made to be broken.

Pigeons, flowers, the showgirl, top hat, whips, and woven pieces all styles I’ve done on Susanne in the past given a new life on a wall and not in Tupperware buckets in my closet. Also included in the show is a process video I made and some archive moments we’ve hoarded. Probably one of the most difficult projects I’ve been tasked with, I’ve balanced a lot of heavy shit on peoples heads but this was a whole different beast.
