The Evening of the Alex Adriaansens Residency brought together two different approaches to research, practice and publishing.
@kat.jankovska presented Off-Grid, moving through autonomous infrastructures, DIY systems and fragile networks. Earlier that day, she and @marie_verdeil reflected on Comp-Host-ing our Phones.
The evening continued with @agustina.andreoletti , whose research on Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) formed the starting point for a round table on tracing colonial heritage beyond institutional frameworks, together with Asawari Luthra, @scarlett.ambrose_ and Tobechukwu Onwukeme.
Thanks to everyone who joined and stayed with the conversation.

The Summer Sessions 2026 open call has been extended.
You now have until April 19, 23:59 CET to apply.
Summer Sessions is an international residency programme for emerging artists and designers working at the intersection of art and technology. Over eight weeks (July–September), participants develop a project from concept to a presentable work.
Selected artists receive access to the facilities of the host institution, expert support, and the opportunity to present their work publicly. Travel, accommodation, materials and a stipend are covered.
The programme is organised with partners across Europe: V2_ Lab for the Unstable Media (NL), Sardegna Teatro (IT) @sardegnateatro , Metamedia (HR) @udruga.metamedij , Academy for Theatre and Digitality (DE) @theater.digital , PiNA (SI) @pinakoper , Schmiede Hallein (AT) @schmiedehallein and Marginal (RO) @marginal.ro
Tomorrow from 13:00–14:00, @nernada a media artist and researcher based in Rotterdam and Summer Sessions 2024 alumni, will join us on @operator.radio talking about her Summer Sessions project and more!
What happens when belief, technology and finance start to operate in the same system?
In ‘The susuk ATM’ @nernada imagines a speculative machine that translates Indonesian black magic rituals into digital transactions. The work connects systems that are often seen as opposites, revealing how both mysticism and modern finance rely on ideas of control, debt and submission. By reframing ritual offerings as financial exchanges, the project questions how power operates in systems we consider rational, and what forms of agency remain within them.
Tune in tomorrow via @operator.radio
Applications for Summer Sessions 2026 are now open.

Other Paths Inside: On Tracing Colonial Heritage Without Institutional Support
When objects, colonial records, and data sit in European museums with no clear path back to the people they belong to, what tools do those communities have?
Open Source Intelligence (the kind used to track corruption and document human rights abuses) is being turned toward a different set of questions: tracing stolen objects, restitution claims, building archives that communities control themselves.
Join us for a round table with:
🔹 Asawari Luthra. Anthropologist and tutor at Design Academy Eindhoven @designacademyeindhoven , working on how to make colonial archives more accessible and responsibly used 🔹 Laura Osorio Sunnucks @lauraosoriosunnucks . Head of Research and Collections at Wereldmuseum @wereldmuseum.amsterdam , with a long focus on provenance and Indigenous heritage 🔹 Tobechukwu Onwukeme @ebony_____blade . Researcher at Forensic Architecture @forensicarchitecture , using mapping and data tools to investigate colonial systems
In conversation with moderator Agustina Andreoletti @agustina.andreoletti . Research Associate at Leuphana University and V2_ AA Fellow 2025.

We rely on systems we hardly notice, until the lights go out or the network fails. But in those moments, another kind of knowledge arises: DIY solutions, forgotten analog technologies, and collective ways of making and being.

This publication is the outcome of the Alex Adriaansens Residency 2025 at V2_ Lab for the Unstable Media.
From the archive: during Summer Sessions 2023, @alixtalaat worked on Dance of the Broken –
رقصة المنكسر
The project looks at ownership and the value of art in a world of endless reproduction. What happens when a copy keeps copying itself? When does something stop being original?
In the work, a drawing is continuously captured and reinterpreted by a machine. A pen plotter tries to mimic the artist’s line, again and again. With each iteration the line shifts, drifts, and slowly becomes something else. What starts as a copy turns into a new form, raising questions about authorship, control and the role of technology in artistic creation.
You can now apply for Summer Sessions 2026 until 8 April via the link in our bio!

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
This free tool allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously, ensuring your activity remains hidden from the story uploader.
Anonstories lets users view Instagram stories without alerting the creator.
Works seamlessly on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and modern browsers like Chrome and Safari.
Prioritizes secure, anonymous browsing without requiring login credentials.
Users can view public stories by simply entering a username—no account needed.
Downloads photos (JPEG) and videos (MP4) with ease.
The service is free to use.
Content from private accounts can only be accessed by followers.
Files are for personal or educational use only and must comply with copyright rules.
