Cycles (2025) an immersive 360° virtual reality dance film Ventcislava Nekova (@ventciii / @ventciful )as a part of MA Digital Direction (@rca_digitaldirection )

The bodies we bring into virtual environments, our physical, social, and present selves, carry with them the norms and rules of the material world, shaping how we move, interact, and perceive within immersive spaces. With Cycles, we explore how dance and immersive technology can reveal the invisible structures of control that shape movement and identity in a setting known by everyone: the dining table.

The project combines dance, projection, and sound to surface internalised power structures and reimagine digital space as a site of embodied resistance. Rooted in feminist theory, performance studies, and immersive tech, it questions how familiar domestic settings like the dining table become sites of discipline and repetition. Developed collaboratively with dancer Emma Poyer (@emmapoyer), Cycles invites audiences into an intimate, affective encounter with control, memory, and transformation.

This was made using Unity, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Adobe Audition, filmed on a Black Magic 4K camera. Technical support by Rodrigo Canas, Kitty Choi, Charlotte Raymen, Kyle Ramsay, and Joe Hirst.

The work premiered on 2nd July 2025 at Frameless Gallery.

Last week, Cycles premiered at @framelessldn ! Thank you to my absolutely unique friend, talent, performer, muse, supporter, angel of a person @emmapoyer for making this piece with me and bringing it to life. Thank you to @rca_digitaldirection for facilitating the event and for the amazing people it brought to me this year.

We presented the live performance of Cycles (there is also a VR version of it) tracing how habitual movements keep gendered power in motion, and how the bodies we carry into virtual worlds drag those same rules with them. The work asks new technologies not to replicate those internalised structures but to interrupt them so the cycle can finally break.

Stay tuned to witness the project and the processes unfold!

Ventcislava Nekova is an artist and movement director working across dance, immersive technology, and digital storytelling. Her work explores how bodies absorb, internalise, and resist systems of control, particularly in digital and domestic spaces, using choreography as a language to expose what often goes unseen.

Currently completing her MA in Digital Direction at the Royal College of Art, Ventcislava also takes part in the Women@Dior & UNESCO mentorship programme. Her practice spans performance, installation, and moving image, often developed through close collaboration with dancers, technologists, sound designers, stylists, and other artists. Her work aims to create spaces where stories are physically felt.

Her approach is research-led and politically engaged, drawing from feminist theory, biopolitics, and embodied storytelling. She is particularly interested in how immersive tools like digital projection, 360° film and VR can both reinforce and challenge the systems that shape us.

In 2023, she presented her short film Echoes of Connection at Shoreditch Arts Centre and worked as a movement director on multiple theatre and dance-led productions. Her latest project Cycles, developed with choreographer @emmapoyer and Sound Designer @zlatamech , will be shown at Frameless London on 2nd of July as part of the RCA Festival of Communication. Set around a dining table, it invites viewers to reflect on how family dynamics, routine, and gendered habits shape our understanding of power, care, and identity.

Hello! I’m crowdfunding the production of my performance project Cycles. It’s a piece about the conventions, rules, systems we internalise, the power of the dynamics we have around while growing up and how we resist them.
Through dance and immersive technology, Cycles explores these themes and invites reflection.

If you can give £1, it really helps! (more if you want)

Link in bio. Thank you and I really appreciate your help!

On the poster: my lovely and talended collaboratorperformer and choreographer @emmapoyer

An exploration of bodies, spaces, being digital and what connection could be.

Our project “Rewiring Intimacy” will be exhibited on the 10 & 11 of April at the RCA Battersea Hangar space. After months of researching, experimenting, prototyping and iterating, I’m so grateful and proud of the work we have done!

We are so happy to host @ventciful @ventciii specially since her work on this exhibition wilk experiment with other different media than she is used to, clay.

Ventci’s work usually revolves around the theme of body/mind connection and the creation of community. She motion tracks her own movement and applies it to digitally created 3D avatars of peers. By offering this visualisation, she aims to encourage them to engage in the physical activities she executes. When transferring the dance digitally, she offers a new experience of our perception of ourselves and our surroundings.

We are presenting our tenth artist @ventciful @ventciii

For this first exhibition of Ethereal Maison she is going toto turn her space for the exhibition into a communal space, where both herself, the viewers and the other artists participating in the project are invited to mould from clay objects and extensions. View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
