Set in 1759, The Lone Piper follows a Scottish bagpipe player and an Algonquian girl as they struggle to cope with the horrors of war. Using folklore as a medium, this period project discusses the ever-present themes of colonialism and xenophobia.
Director's Statement:
As an aspiring writer and director, I am driven by a passion for building immersive, emotionally resonant worlds and crafting characters who are as flawed and fascinating as the human experience itself. My storytelling is deeply rooted in atmosphere and subtext, often blurring the line between reality and myth to explore the darker aspects of history and the human psyche.
I draw much of my inspiration from visionary filmmakers like Guillermo del Toro and Robert Eggers, whose works seamlessly blend the fantastical with the historical. Like them, I believe that folklore is more than just old stories—it is a mirror that reflects our fears, desires, and cultural memory. Through this lens, I seek to uncover fresh perspectives on the horrors of the past—not simply for the sake of fear, but to interrogate what those fears reveal about us.
In my work, horror becomes a vehicle for empathy, not just dread. Whether it's a haunted landscape echoing with ancestral trauma or a monster that symbolizes internalized guilt, I aim to build narratives that linger long after the credits roll. My ultimate goal as a filmmaker is to evoke not only suspense and terror, but also reflection, wonder, and a deeper emotional truth.
As I continue to grow in my craft, I am committed to pushing boundaries, challenging expectations, and telling stories that honor both the mythic and the human—stories that are strange, beautiful, and, above all, unforgettable.

OBEY! was born out of my fascination with the tension between online entertainment and online exploitation. I was inspired by the trend of dogs “communicating” through button training, an idea that’s emotionally compelling but deeply contested. Whether the communication is real or projected isn’t the point. What interested me was how quickly that ambiguity becomes content, then income. When an animal can’t consent or explain itself, the line between love, projection, and exploitation becomes dangerously thin.
On a genre level, I wanted the film to feel immediate and unsettling. Ghostly command buttons activating on their own felt like a natural, contemporary evolution of classic horror imagery, echoing invisible hands pressing piano keys. The story escalates through satire and dread, asking what might happen if the tables were suddenly turned. If an animal could understand how it was being used, would it feel loved or betrayed? Ultimately, OBEY! is less about dogs than it is about people, and the quiet justifications we make when attention and profit are involved.

The frequency of these observations only accelerated as I entered the workforce in an industry dominated by men.
The paradoxical nature of this experience is what connected me to Bill. The film is a reflection on the uncomfortable truths surrounding generations of women who’ve settled for men content in the role of puppeteer. Bill isn’t just a story about the breaking of chains: it’s a comedic exploration of autonomy - and what to do while wielding control over the opposite gender for the first time ever.
