I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who showed interest in the show and performance. It has been an absolute honour to create and present Symbiotic Encounters alongside such extraordinary artists and collaborators. A special thanks to my incredible colleagues, whose hard work and dedication made this possible—I will always cheer you on, no matter where life takes you. Thank you to all who joined me and made this experience so memorable. 💜
Symbiotic Encounters is a spatial experiment exploring the artist’s role in creating a convivial communal space where art, audience members, and curators can share a moment in time. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of ‘Ichi-go Ichi-e’ (for this time only), this exhibition reminds us that each encounter is a unique treasure that will never be repeated in the same way again.
Daniel Rey’s newly commissioned performance, ‘Archipelago’, created in collaboration with composer Charles Nyhia, serves as a deliberate deceleration for those who encounter it. Improvised by five male-presenting performers, Archipelago unfolds in four acts as a journey of introspection within a dream-like landscape of slow and intimate interactions.

Join us for the RCA Applied Art MA student led exhibition.
The “Accumulated Point” show is all about the idea of ‘Layers’, presenting a variety of perspectives and interpretations. Each artist builds up their own ‘Layers’ from their diffrent angles and views. Moreover, the present moment, still accruing, represents the most overlapped and layered instance, a captured point, where artworks embodying diverse viewpoints can be showcased. Through this show, by exploring the stories and hidden meanings within each piece, we aspire to understand the various strata of life and gain a more profound perspective. Additionally, we hope that everyone can discover the ‘Layers’ accumulated in their own lives, finding new values and meanings within them.

Join us for the RCA Applied Art MA student led exhibition.
The “Accumulated Point” show is all about the idea of ‘Layers’, presenting a variety of perspectives and interpretations. Each artist builds up their own ‘Layers’ from their diffrent angles and views. Moreover, the present moment, still accruing, represents the most overlapped and layered instance, a captured point, where artworks embodying diverse viewpoints can be showcased. Through this show, by exploring the stories and hidden meanings within each piece, we aspire to understand the various strata of life and gain a more profound perspective. Additionally, we hope that everyone can discover the ‘Layers’ accumulated in their own lives, finding new values and meanings within them.
