For those who don’t know… 4 weeks ago Jason had spinal surgery— and my mom has been here every day since!
J’s recovery is much more difficult than any of us had imagined and when I asked my mom to come help me she was on a flight later that afternoon. She has taken care of Vaeda, cooked, cleaned, helped J, given rides and basically saved us during the roughest first month. She is the most selfless person on this planet and we are so thankful she’s our grandma and mom. And thank you to my dad George Pohl for letting us borrow her for so long! My parents are lifesavers. Where to begin…??

Well, I spent the most time with these two as they were the main dancers for Die Another Day and that dance was COMPLICATED - for M, dancers, video, lasers, costuming - it was just TOUGH to put together.

@jaljoshua is like a dance computer - she can input choreography into her body, reverse it, do someone else’s, clean herself and the other dancers- she’s amazingly able and adept. Buuuuut once that’s done, she doesn’t really love doing much rehearsing after that 😂 IYKYK
I will say that I couldn’t have taught M DAD without her- she was always there reminding me of the choreo, counts, reminding me that M had to sing lol. She’s an Angel in really great clothes, just don’t ask her to run Ray of Light ✨

And @jamesvuanh - what a fun lovely slutty spirit to have with us on tour!! James simultaneously never does what he’s supposed to, but always does what he’s supposed to…?! He’s always pointing his booty to the camera, never wearing his rehearsal blacks, always making the choreo a bit more femme than it should be- and he’s one of the easiest personalities to get along with. He also created much of the choreography for DAD.

Being on stage between these to Australian accents after they both scarf down seaweed chips was interesting, funny and they always kept M in a good mood. She’s was always happy when she was with them, and for that I am eternally grateful.

I love you both forever and hope to see you somewhere in the world very soon. 😘

Vaeda’s first Reel ❤️

Inspired by my pumpkin spice latte - had to get some copper for the season 🍂

With the 1 year anniversary of our opening come and gone, it’s time to continue posting about our incredible dancers.

Next up is my brother @marvin.gofin

Marvin and I have toured together 3 times now.

He has always been incredibly creative, committed to his vision and passionate about his performance. Even after a dance is fully choreographed, Marvin is always on the side trying out new things and thinking of ways to make his performance better and more interesting (this is rare because it’s easy to become “satisfied” on a long tour like this and just rest on your laurels).

He is also invaluable to me in another way:.. I can’t tell you how many times he has broken up yelling matches between me and the boss in the heat of rehearsals when we go head to head. 🤜🏽 which was about every 2 weeks lol.

He’s also a clown. Always has a joke. Always happy and carefree with everyone around him and everyone just loves him.
I think I can say honestly that he is one of my biggest sources of help on the tour when it comes to pleasing our girl. He and I have rehearsed together so much over the years and I honestly couldn’t imagine the show without him 😊

**This is some bts of the Billie Jean/Like a Virgin medley. It was really tricky to get all the moves in without getting out of the shadow. @travispayne1 came in clutch with the Michael movement as always! Have to shout out @stevielyne who played our little M and was so professional and solid.
Interesting tidbit: we shot this once and the footage got deleted 😳
This was extra frustrating for Marvin because he had rehearsed so much and really had the Michael details nailed for the first shoot. So the second one he wasn’t quite as pleased with cause there was limited time to prepare and it’s tough to look like Mike. But what’re ya gonna do???

We won’t mention who deleted the footage lol. IYKYK

Next two on the list of dancers who need talking about: Donnie and Dana ❤️

It goes without saying that rehearsals and tour are beyond taxing, and, it also goes without saying that many people develop an attitude and don’t show up on time, don’t show up period, or just plain don’t want to be there.

But these two never, ever stressed me out with timing or attitude. They were always there when I needed them, always with a smile (which is hard especially when you’re tired and what we’re doing makes no sense and is a waste of time 😂)

@danapaja is someone you want to grow up to be like. They are free and happy and just all around amazing soul. If you’re lucky enough to meet them - stick around. They’re amazing and I’m so glad to know them 💋 I miss you!

@doni_q is just such an easy guy. Happy, cute, talented and professional - he’s the always hire for me and I’m sure everyone he’s ever worked for.

Unfortunately I don’t have many bts of these two -
but the 2nd photo is the “bathing suit” @danapaja offered to let me borrow… #nope - lmao
And the 3rd is actual footage of @doni_q doing “Rain” with @madonna 😂 😂 😂

The next two dancers I’d like to talk about are @mattildalove_ and @isaiacheck

These two had some of the hardest roles in the show because 90% of their work went unseen.

It’s a very difficult thing as a performer to watch people get more stage time than you— how you react says a lot about you… and these two couldn’t have been more wonderful 🥰

Many people don’t know, but @isaiacheck was not invited to audition as a dancer.

They came as an assistant to @la.horde but ended up being booked as our swing cause Isaias talent is undeniable!

A swing learns EVERY ROLE and steps in when we have a sick or injured dancer. HOWEVER- ISAiA is so amazing and talented that they ended up in a lot of the show in their own role. AS WELL AS stepping in flawlessly every time we needed a swing.

ISAiA also helped choreograph Ray of Light and Beast Within.
They are overflowing with talent and beauty ❤️ and I thank the lucky stars they were on the road with me.

And @mattildalove_ !! What a ray of sunshine ☀️ Mattie was our doppelgänger (always with her face covered!!) and she had such a difficult role because she almost exclusively works 1 on 1 with M. @madonna is not easy to please! And when all the focus and criticism is solely on you as a dancer it takes a very strong individual to rise to the occasion.
The fact that M chose her speaks volumes about Mattie’s resilience and work ethic.

She also became the second M stand in anytime we needed a token white girl 😂

Mattie only got to showcase 0.01% of her talent on this stage but she was always happy to be there.
I am better for knowing her. 💋

These two shine bright!!! Keep an eye out 😉 they’re gonna do great things.

Many people don’t know, but @isaiacheck was not invited to audition as a dancer.

They came as an assistant to @la.horde but ended up being booked as our swing cause Isaias talent is undeniable!

A swing learns EVERY ROLE and steps in when we have a sick or injured dancer. HOWEVER- ISAiA is so amazing and talented that they ended up in a lot of the show in their own role. AS WELL AS stepping in flawlessly every time we needed a swing.

ISAiA also helped choreograph Ray of Light and Beast Within.
They are overflowing with talent and beauty ❤️ and I thank the lucky stars they were on the road with me.

And @mattildalove_ !! What a ray of sunshine ☀️ Mattie was our doppelgänger (always with her face covered!!) and she had such a difficult role because she almost exclusively works 1 on 1 with M. @madonna is not easy to please! And when all the focus and criticism is solely on you as a dancer it takes a very strong individual to rise to the occasion.
The fact that M chose her speaks volumes about Mattie’s resilience and work ethic.

She also became the second M stand in anytime we needed a token white girl 😂

Mattie only got to showcase 0.01% of her talent on this stage but she was always happy to be there.
I am better for knowing her. 💋

These two shine bright!!! Keep an eye out 😉 they’re gonna do great things.

3. Mattie laying on the Meta lift - in M’s costume while video department calibrates the AI for a new rose gold cat suit. It’s quite relaxing ☺️
